However you want to camp you can. Tent, RV, you name it. With lake access on virtually every spot you’ll wake up to amazing views and great days in the sun. Almost every spot has a walkable path to the water. It’s pet friendly and has amenities for even the least experienced (and least willing) campers.
When we visited the site in winter it was a solid basecamp with little frills or features. Not bad by any means, but also not terribly exciting or memorable. Our conditions weren’t ideal, but the site also didn’t entice exploration or adventure. If your looking to wheel or off-road it’s close to several rods and mountain paths. It’s also not far from Helen for hose looking to make day trips into town.
Just outside Helen, this site offers great spots and plenty of area to hike and explore. Great for tent camping and even some RVs and pull-behinds. The hidden magic is when you explore the upper area and find the waterfalls and walkable area. One of the other great features is the proximity to Helen. You’re only a short drive from town, food, and shopping. A great way to spend part of your day while otherwise isolated in the woods for some unplugging.
Amazing site. Plenty of spots and space for camping. Some require water and creek crossing. If you’re looking to do some wheeling or off-roading, you’ll have some trails to ride and mountains to climb. The site has no cell service, so be ready for that. You’re truly alone on a mountain. The creek offers places to relax, fish, and even swim.
