Quiet spot

Easy to find and roads in are OK. Not all that busy outside of hunting season. Four spots have a picnic table. Spots are reasonably private. Did have portable toilets but some drunk idiots smashed them. Does have a trash bin.

Kind of cramped,

Very convenient to Houghton and rest of Keweenaw Peninsula. But spots are practically on top of one another. Great if you’re camping with kids and friends, but no so great if you’re looking for some quiet.

Beautiful spot right on Lake Superior

Stayed on a Wednesday and there was space available but booked solid for weekends. Filled up by 4 pm. Spots are small, side-by-side and no privacy, but they have several spots to watch spectacular sunsets. That was worth the stay.

Great sites and free!

Beautiful sites, some very private and right on the lake. Boat launch nearby. Sites are spacious and privacy depends in the site. Some are isolated, others are mean to camp with friends. All have fire pit and table. First come, first served. We got there on a Thursday and lots of sites, but was full by the weekend. You have to drive around and pick an open site and caretaker comes around about 11am to check you in. Pit toilets, some ADA accessible.

Excellent Campground

Basic Forest Service campground, with picnic table, fire pit, but also a paved pad (nice because it poured two of our ten nights). Very quiet and not very busy this time of year. Sites are very private and well-spaced. Pit toilets were extremely well maintained and clean. $15 per night. One bar T-mobile enough for calls but no data.

Beautiful, spacious, quiet

First-come-first-served campground with 10 spots. Pit toilet, picnic table, fire pit and drinking water are the amenities. Sites are huge, and very private. We came on a Thursday in late July and only two sites occupied. Full by Friday noon to Sunday morning. Pit toilet is well-maintained and clean. T-Mobile cell was 2 bars with booster and intermittent without. Loved this place. Quiet, beautiful, spacious and private. Some sites have nice lake views. Paddling and hiking were great. Our 2 night stay turned into 10 nights.

Very Quiet and nice little casino

Huge parking lot off the highway, so no road noise. Casino is a bit smoky, but not that bad. It is mostly slots, but still fun. $20 free play when you sign up. Nice little restaurant and bar.
