National park landscape without national park prices

Huge pullout maybe 20 minutes outside of the Hoh Rainforest section of Olympic national park.

The national park was busy during the day, but nobody passed by this spot while we were there. Hard to get that kind of solitude so close to a NP.

As previous camper mentioned it’s free once you have a Washington Discover Pass

No At&t or Sprint service

There was a homemade firepit at the site but not entirely sure about legality of having a fire there

Solid overnight

Free (with Discover Pass) dispersed spots by Banks Lake. Max stay is 3 nights

Clean pit toilet

Small place to launch boats

Full At&t service

It says no fires but there are several rock firepits

Small amount of trash

Wonderful lakeside dispersed

There are several pullouts in this whole area, not just this spot.

Well maintained flat gravel road, so you can bring any type of vehicle

There are pit toilets near each lake

Att and Sprint service

Beautiful in Snow

Went snowshoe backpacking up to McNeil Point this weekend and camped and showshoe-d around the area for a few days. This area is extremely popular in summer and is along the Timberline Trail, but  during our Late May excursion there was still tons of snow and only saw a few people in the 3 days we were up there.

Views of Hood, Rainier, and and Adams with plenty of nearby meadows and ridges to explore. What else could you ask for?
