We have visited this campground many times , we love to kayak and they are are setup with very nice kayak launches , the lake is amazing fishing spot with 9.9 hp boat restrictions. the locals are very nice.
My parents Camp at this campground seasonally, we have come to know many people we call friends , they have a grate playground for kids and fishing pond , the pool is really nice, the Camp store is easy check in.
We were traveling back from the UP and always wanted to stay in this campground.
The camp spots are flat, back to a playground (Amazing For kids) 3 min walk to the beach and pier , sand is going to be everywhere , tight spots busy all the time.
Not your private campground the beach is the priority..Would return
Good time, Met some other nucamp owners had a good time around the fire, We had some issues with someone else using our spot when we arrived tried to call the park office to get a resolution with no result. had to use another open spot.
Just wanted to update. This campground appears to be under new management. There are new posts and it is now self register.$10 a night. We were passing through looking for a site. There is one“beach” site and 3 other sites at this time. Not very private but very close to the lake. No electric hook up. Artesian well. Would check it out in the future as it was full for the holiday weekend.
We came in late for just a place to rest before heading further north. Drop box available after 10pm(summer). Between 8p-10p there is a yellow phone to check in with. Can book day of until 8pm online. Easy to get into late at night. Big lots. Fire pit. Sites are electric only. Recommend to have extension cord for some sites, as plug in can be far. Website has pictures for sites and will advise if lot gets wet. Staff was very friendly the next morning. Updated our rec pass at the park before leaving. Lots of trails and swimming beach near park.
The company I work for host a teardrop event ( ucamp) every year . Good size pavilions and nice power poles.
Stayed April 1, 2022. We were the only ones there when we arrived. One other group did come and stayed several sites down from us. It was very quiet. We picked a waterfront lot(number 5). It sat back in from the driveway around the camp. NO water available. NO cell service(even with booster antenna). Outhouse or ports johns available. Fire areas and Picnic tables at each site. Would return for sure! I will say there was a lot of litter!! It’s beautiful, free camping! Please leave it better than you found it!
Second time camping here. Last time was Labor Day weekend 2020. Approx 50 sites. With just shy of 1/2 waterfront. We had a water front site. Came in mid day on the 1 st. Stayed for the weekend. No electric. No shower house. Vault toilets available. Spring water available. Perfect for tents, truck campers, and smaller campers. 1 pull through site. A few sites are available for slightly larger units. Sandy beach and picnic area. One of our favorite boondocks camp sites.
