Not your typical Campgrounds

Drove by this campground all my life nearly and never had any interest to stay here. Extremely small, tightly crammed in 30 total sites with no additional amenities other than its economically priced for a full hook up, drive thru sites @$28 a night. Not a good place for family oriented activities for the young ones at all but a good place to pull off while traveling and need a night or two to stay in the midst of your travels maybe

Family oriented

Quite the establishment! Almost 150 sites including rustic, full hook up, cabins and even just over a handful of park model units to reserve for your family to come stay and enjoy all the amenities they offer. Amenities including but not limited to horse shoes, swimming ( man dug pond) hiking, basketball, volleyball and etc. No alcohol allowed as this is a Christian campground but for all the amenities it is extremely affordable! $30 a night 30/50 amp full hook up … don’t need 30+ amp but want sewer as well only $25 a night 15 amp full hook up or as low as $20 for 15 amp water n electric only! Want the full camping ambiance $15 a night for rustic tent camping! Great place to take the family even several times a season on a budget!

Hidden lil local Gem

While doing research looking for those local places to get away and feel like we’ve gotten away from the rat race we came across this lil gem! Mostly seasonal campers but still sites available for those nightly / weekender campers. All sites are 50 amp full hook ups. The beach is right on the sports lake nepessing. Forget something while packing? No worries! They have you covered at their conscience store specific to their campgrounds! All while allowing daily, weekly and monthly visitors at a very reasonable price! For a full hook up campground this place is very economically friendly at only $40 a night! Can’t wait to feel the full experience next season!!

Small private quaint rustic place to regroup

Very small area for camping here only 4 rustic sites available no electricity or sewer but a hand pump for water nearby. This is more for daily activities such as base/softball as there are 2 separate fields, 16 horse shoe pits, 9 Soccor fields , nature n’ exercise trail lines by a small stream. This specific park also has a playground structure for the young ones along with misc other pieces of playground things to play on.

A very Special Camping Experience for those Special ones in your life!

This camp is set up for the Special ones in your life allowing them the same experience/ ambiance that you want to have when getting out and enjoying a campground but with limitations in place for those in need of limitations. Only available a few short weeks and on a daily basis. Allows ages from 3 to 40+ with a counselor available 1:1 ratio most the time giving your special camper all the dedication and attention he/she needs n’ wants! Looks like an amazing place for that special someone to have their own outlet and a chance to socialize and have fun all together!!

Doesn’t seem to have opened this year

As researching different near by campgrounds we came across this one and it looked like it would be great for a family reunion type of group event. Very limited sites in this peaceful piece of property but sites so big you could have multiple families on them. Looking for a different kind of adventure/ venue for a wedding without all the fuss n’ muss I believe this would be well worth looking into

Can’t wait til they open under new ownership

Met the new owners as we were driving by and they gave us a brief description of what they were doing to the grounds to make it more cozy but comfortable as before sites were pretty tight. Adding cabins to their already 8’ish to accommodate additional “glampers” as some of us enjoy a bit more than a tent and or camper OR don’t have a tent/camper. Lake looks big n clean along with activities laid out for the kids outside already can’t wait to see what they put in place next year/ season!

Hoping to be better next year

Covid precautions in place… hoping to stay in a cabin but never available… kids would enjoy as long as everything is open as this hoping to be better next year… plenty local enough to try again on a whim but hate to spend the $$ to have most amenities still closed! If you have to cancel n close amenities to the point campers don’t feel they can enjoy even the ambiance of the weekend then the $$ price shouldn’t be no where near what it is… yes I realize KOA has a tendency to be more expensive BUT it’s the amenities you are paying for! So please understand when reviews come in the way they do that it should be taken into consideration….

Omg great family / kids time to unplug!!

Tenting at its finest… brother his wife and 5 kids my husband at the time and 4 kids reserved a group area and had a blast teaching and showing those who had never camped how fun it could be!! No cell/internet service but that was perfect!! Great time to unplug and just enjoy our surroundings and begin to learn our own creativity! Learned how to ensure food was safe and tucked away from coons along with the good ole fashion porta potties …. nothing Lysol can can’t fix there but with a total of 8 males (6 being under 18….) always have a can of Lysol when porta potties were in our future lol Definitely would go back when ready for a”rustic” camping event!

Nice n’ quaint

Clean n respectfully observing Covid guidelines and protocol. Hoping to have next season more laid back and fun filled with more activities not on the cancellation list. . . . .

Busy busy busy

Nice family/ Christian campgrounds… ok for those who care not enjoy alcohol beverages while vacationing, great activities set up for the kids. Clean and cautious due to Covid as necessary. Definitely recommend to families w kids that are on the conservative side and would like to keep their faith religiously on sundays with service and etc. As well as always being actively filled. Had my step daughters 8th grade graduations done two years in a row there at their auditorium as well.

Hope next year will be better

Tried getting into the campgrounds via cabin… none were available for any portion of the season. Never been to a KOA before and wanted to see if it would be worth our while to join / membership with them as we have begun to notice they have a lot of amenities listed for several of their locations and actually ended up staying at another one without realizing it until we pulled in as it seems they were just bought out by KOA possibly up by Mt Pleasant. Grounds were kept up ok, Covid precautions taken seriously but considering we weren’t able to stay in a cabin we didn’t enjoy our nights as well as we would of cared to. Next year/ season hoping we either have a nicer camper or can stay in a cabin as well as bring the kids now that we know what is available hopefully Covid will be a thing of the past so all amenities will be open as well. Phone has not had enough space and didn’t save any pics to share unfortunately

Beautiful Campground

After several hours of searching for an open campsite for the weekend mid July we found this campground online and quickly reserved our site before it got snatched up. Nice peaceful drive there… pulled in to find they have recently just been acquired by KOA I believe as there was signage down with few KOA signs up. Beautiful well kept restrooms n’ showers, very nice staff, quaint lil store for those “oops I forgot” items along with small variety ice cream shop tucked to one side. A few cabins looked to be just built as well as possibly a few more to come, walked a trail to find a doggy park as well which is nice to have when traveling with our fur babies. Unfortunately they had canceled a lot of their activities due to COVID but we reserved a tubing trip that was over an hour away for Saturday so we enjoyed the grounds/site to relax around the fire for the most part. Would definitely go back when activities resume, would love to see everything they are working on currently to broaden their activities and lodging experiences!

What started out w/ us almost 2’ under water .....

Poured down rained while setting up to the point we couldn’t step outta our camper without being up past our knees in water!! Good experience overall, when we first reserved on the phone after searching hours for a campground with weekend availability we decided to take a small drive out to take a better look at it only to find out the main bathroom w/ showers were closed… no shower accessibility whatsoever for the weekend of 95 + degree weather!! Would haven’t even known if I hadn’t looked down at a hand written sign below in their store by the register… once we seen that we continued to ask additional questions as to what they closed due to “COVID”…. They seemed to blame everything they closed on that when in reality I believe they either just didn’t want to take the extra precautions as instructed in the Governor’s orders b/c of extra time = extra pay or if it was all together a staffing issue possibly we were unsure but very disappointed as other campgrounds just stepped their game up and ensured they followed protocol w/ the social distancing and extra cleanliness precautions. BUT once we got over that since they already had our $$ we got there that Friday to have it rain almost all night long 2’ deep water right in front of the door as well as probably close to 6’ diameter. Thankfully it all soaked up and we with the kids had a good time n’ made a lot of fun memories!!

Family Fun Campgrounds

Have stayed several times and always have a great time! Plenty of activities planned and structured thru the grounds to keep the whole family entertained including PUTT PUTT Golf, Arcade, Saturday Night Adult Bingo weekly, and tons more!! You can stay as simply in a tent rustic style, accommodations for almost any style camper along with (2) Cottages for rent as well! Forget to pack something?! No Worries…they have you covered at their general store anywhere from a toothbrush, table cloth, soda, Lg homemade Pizzas, Subs and the best Ice Cream ever in their homemade waffle cones!! Nice get away far enough away but also close enough as well! Unplug and enjoy!

First Camping Trip in 2020

We finally got out camping together July 7th for a week! We do not have our own unit as of yet so we rented a Pop Up Camper for the week. Unfortunately we were only able to stay here for a few days of that week tues-fri as there wasn’t a single site open fri-sat. We took this first half of our camping trip alone n’ had a great time! Huge campgrounds, very clean facilities right on top of COVID procedures making us extremely comfortable! In one of our many walks we took down several sites we would like to rent next season! Hoping to have our own camper by then which I’m sure will guarantee an even greater experience!
