We decided to weather the cold in exchange for less people and were GREATLY rewarded! The views were outstanding and the campground wasn't full. We were able to do and see all that we set out to do, sans lines.
This campground was well kept, but pretty loud throughout the day due to all the off road vehicles. There were plenty places to hike and town isn't too far for making beer runs ;)
The campground was relatively quiet and offered lots of shade from the hot summer sun.
Solo camping during the week proved to be very peaceful at this site… wanting to escape the Phoenix heat for a few days, I enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, and wildlife viewing! My only complaint was that I chose a site (81) that offered zero shade! I now know better for next visit
