My partner and I tent camped here with our two dogs for 2 nights and it was such a great trip! The tent area we stayed in was a little closely packed and kinda awkward to get to because we had to walk through our neighbors campground (T5) to get into ours and you are right up against the highway so during the day it can be a little noisy but it was so pretty here. The camp hosts are super nice and friendly and we’re super informative about the nearby hikes we could do. The bathrooms were incredibly well kept and clean with running toilets, sinks, and showers. This definitely would have been a 5 star campground but I prefer camping in areas where we have a little space from our neighbors but luckily we had super friendly kind neighbors during our trip! I would absolutely camp here again!
I stayed at this campsite for one night in early November because I wanted to find a place that would be good for paddle boarding the next morning. It was a bit too cold in the morning for me to actually paddleboard but it was still very very worth going. The road is a little bit tough to get down and you drive for quite a while so make sure you’re good on gas. But the dam and the drive down to the campsites on the river was beautiful. I paid $20 for one night in a single campsite. The reason why this campground landed four stars was because of the amount of flies and mosquitoes. I ended up having to hide in my tent by 5:30 because there was just so many of them. I understand the mosquitoes because you are on the water but the amount of flies seemed a bit much. There was also quite a bit of spiders. It was warm enough that I was able to keep the fly of my tent off during the night so I got to watch the sun go down, the sun rise, and the stars during the night which was absolutely beautiful. I would definitely go back just maybe with more bug repellent next time.
This camp ground is a nice little Arizona hidden gem. Considering how dry and desert landscapey Arizona is, this was an absolutely beautiful place to camp and I felt like I was in Washington or Oregon with all the trees so bring a hammock for your campsite! This place costs 14 a day for the single sites, and 28 a day for the double sites. Bring exact cash because it is a self service and there is no cash back and all spots are first come first serve. I camped here on a Saturday and Sunday and it wasn’t super busy at all. The camp host was super friendly and came around the share the temperature expected for the night and to see if I needed firewood. The stars at night time are absolutely breathtaking!! The bathrooms are kept fairly clean for a port-a-potty type setup. Be aware mountain lions, bobcats, raccoons, and bears are all possible here so make sure no food is left out overnight. I ended up having a bear come through my campsite on the second night and it refused to leave for over an hour so I had to leave my campsite and sleep elsewhere. The reason this place got 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the noise level. The OHV trail was right behind my campsite so I heard them almost all day long, as well as the generator noises from the RVs which both stopped at a decent hour. These campsites are very very close to a highway so road noise is pretty loud 24/7. Other than that I couldn’t have picked a better camp spot! I very highly recommend camping here!
I stayed at this campground in March 2021. This is a perfect place for first time campers because it was near stores in case I got there and realized I’d forgotten something, and the bathrooms were very close and within walking distance of my campground. The campsites are right near the river and the views especially at sunset were absolutely beautiful. On the opposite side of the river within 5 minutes driving, there is a hiking trail that runs down the river and has little spots that take you down to picnic tables and the river if you want to swim. I highly highly recommend this camp site. The only reason I give 4 stars is because the campgrounds are very close together so if you’re looking for something more secluded and in nature, this campsite probably won’t be what you’re looking for. All campsites are first come first serve.
This is probably one of the fanciest camping sites I’ve ever been too. Definitely not as “in nature” as I’m used to but still a really cool experience. I paid 38 for one night for me and my 2 dogs. They had lots of social areas around and lots of variety between RVs, tent sites, and cabins but the tent camping sites were pretty tightly packed together. I like to sit out and read with my lanterns by the fire once the sun goes down and I ended up having to move into my tent to read because the site next to me was too bright from my lanterns and I felt bad. Other than that, they had an adorable gift shop and frozen yogurt night was happening during my visit. There are bathrooms with showers available. And a store to purchase anything and everything you may need from shampoo to firewood to food to cook as well as souvenirs. All together great experience and I would definitely camp again!
This is probably the most beautiful camping site I have every stayed at. It was so green and the camp sites were so secluded and private it was I felt like I was camping in the woods by myself. I paid 45 for myself and 2 dogs for one night. It’s a tad more pricey than I normally pay for campsites but totally worth it for a campsite like this. There was a family of squirrels running up and down the trees by my campsite and the weather was beautiful. The bathrooms are a bit far from the sites and I had to drive down to them any time I had to go but the bathrooms were decently clean. This is a great place to disconnect as you will have no service when you get to the top campsites. My only problem was the fire pits were unavailable to use during my visit which kind of sucked. Highly highly recommend this campsite and will definitely be going back.
So… many… spiders! I paid 20 bucks for 1 night tent camping for me and 2 dogs. The campground is absolutely gorgeous with lots of trees and water views. A little confusing to get to since there isn’t much signage to guide you and I ended up going to wrong way the first time. They have bathrooms with showers available for use. I was very very satisfied here but once it got a little darker, all the creepy crawlers started coming out and I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many spiders in one place. In the morning, I had spiders in each of my door handles, my mirrors, when I turned on my car they started crawling out of the hood of my car, and I had spiders coming out of my trunk for a week. I am not a “beginning camper” so I’m used to bugs and spiders on my trips but I’ve never had this many in one place. There are really cute baby frogs hopping all around in the mornings though which was very cute. Just watch your step. Probably won’t be going back because of the spiders though…
