Road is a bit rough, but a few sites available for dispersed camping
Very quiet, nice area. Vault toilets, potable water. $35 a night with out of state charges.
Stayed here one night while travelling through. Nice hot springs pool, and shower facility. Most sites are primitive only, no fee, firepit and picnic table.
Nice campground, with lots of sites, $10 or $20 with electric. Lots of trails, and the Mississippi River is across the road. If you come this way, be sure to check out the historic towns of Mount Carroll and Galena. I'd give this 5 stars, but the bathrooms are a bit dirty and have quite a few cobwebs. Otherwise it's well maintained, plenty of private sites, and quiet.
Outside Rockford ILL. I didnt stay, was just scouting. Hardly anyone here. Sites are close together. Has electric. $13 residents, $23 non reaidents. Pit toilets. Water.
Really cool place. Quiet. Beautiful view. A few misquitos, but not bad at the sites farther from lake. $15 per night. Most sites open even though its a thursday before July 4th. Plenty of room for larger RVs AND have privacy if you go to the non electric part of the park. Lots of separation at most sites. Stayed 1 night in van.
Pulled in and took the last available site. Past trips it was FCFS, but apparently it's a reservation now. Decent site though. Restrooms clean.
