Nice Little Park

This is a nice little park. Not fancy, but friendly and quiet. The office people were really nice and very accomodating. Has a small pool, showers/restrooms, and laundry. There are maybe 50% fulltime residents, but we were there for two months and never heard/saw any drama or trouble. People were friendly and kept mainly to themselves. Park has lots of shade from beautiful live oak trees and has a waterfront area that is very pretty. No dog park, but plenty of places to walk your leashed pet. There is a boat ramp around the corner and I believe the waterway connects to the river. The park is older, and some of the cement pads are cracked and heaving, but looked like people were able to level up. They mow and trim regularly, so things were neat. This isn't a new fancy park, but it was nice and quiet and we liked it. We had site 64 which was a great really long pull thru with full hookups. Our Verizon reception was good. They offer reasonable weekly and monthly prices as well as nightly. The park is off Exit 41 of I-10 about halfway between D'Iberville/Biloxi exit and Gulfport exit (both have tons of shopping). Local area has tons to do…casinos, beaches, about an hour and quarter to New Orleans, Shuckers baseball, plus tons of great food.

Great stopover

Park is clean and neat and offers a great view of the Tucumcari Mountain. Three retired brothers own it and it is well kept. It has several horse corrals and a barn with two stalls and pens. There is a small dog park (dirt/gravel) The park is a large gravel lot with level, marked sites offering full hookup and 30 and 50 amp service. We were escorted to our site and given great service. It is near to US 40, but far enough away to not hear much of the traffic. Sits off old Route 66 and nearby Tucumcari is a fun place to see old Rte 66 businesses with their neon on at night. Lots of murals around town. Some parts of town have seen better days, but made for an interesting drive through to look. We had good cell service and they did have wifi. Not sure I would want to spend a week here, but it was a great place for a one-night stopover!

Best We've Stayed

This park is very well-kept and the views are amazing. Most sites are huge (center sites alittle close together) and they offer full hookup, pull thru, and back-in sites. There are trees for shade. Owners are onsite and extremely friendly and professional. There are modern, private restrooms with shower, toilet, and sink as well as a larger restroom with multiple stalls and private showers. There is a beautiful covered pavillion with great views, gas grills, gas fire pit, and picnic table that is available for anyone to use. They have glamping tents, laundry, and propane onsite. Tons to do nearby including the reservoir, Mesa Verde, and much more. Delores (10 min) is a smaller town with nice dining and shops. Cortez (15 min) has all modern amenities including Walmart, chain stores, and grocery. Park is very quiet and friendly. Nearby gas and diesel available. Beautiful and top notch…they even rake the gravel sites between guests! Highly recommend! Our favorite campground to date!
