Beautiful wild beach covered with crabs, access to kayaks and paddle boards and fishing within walking distance. rangers are very considerate and keep it family friendly. they have yurts for rent as well as tent sites, bathrooms are posh with hot water. convenient water spigots throughout park.
great place to disconnect. no cell service at all- bring a weather radio. campsites are nice and fairly private, wooded between them, many with access to the lake. lake is clear enough in some spots for swimming but is more ideal for fishing / paddling. can fill up fast on the weekends, doesn’t have an employee so must put $ or a check in the box. location is horse friendly with lots of great hiking trails.
campground is great right next to the beach, nice bathrooms, good showers (cold h2o only). Rangers are great about advising spots based on the weather so you don’t wind up in a flooded area. Mosquitoes are wicked, but a small price to pay.
