We were going to stay at this “resort” tonight but when we drove in, we took a little look around and got out as fast as we could! This is no “resort”. It is a garbage dump masquerading as a “campground.” There was no one in the “office” and the place was not mowed or even taken care of in the slightest. It was surrounded by a swamp which look like a breeding ground for a million mosquitos. There were several “campers” there that look like they had been living in the squalor. Do NOT try to stay at this garbage dump! It is scary bad! It should not even be listed on The Dyrt as it is a horrible as it can possibly get!
Just checked in yesterday and will be here 6 days with grandchildren. Park is clean, comfortable and was easy to work with when we requested an upgrade to our originally chosen site. While it is a bit noisy being right off I-90 having our AC on overnight minimizes the noise. the park has a ton of amenities for kids and seems very well managed for a lot of “kid fun!” Looking forward to the next few days and will update this review at the end of our stay. So far, so good!
Very nice, clean and comfortable campground for an overnight stop. Price is right! The “office” is a little gas station, hamburger cafe with a very efficient and friendly check in person. The sites are mostly pull through with full service electric, water, and sewer. The only real issue is the constant noise from I-80 which is just to the south of the campground. But nothing that a good set of earplugs can’t fix. Our little dog especially liked the two chicken coops at east side of the the campground! (Not noisy or any problem - just a reminder that you are in Iowa!). Overall, very nice and has clean restrooms. The sign on the “office” says they have Iowas “BEST” Hamburger. We didn’t try it, but will take their word for it!
This is one of the most beautiful campgrounds we have ever encountered! On a beautiful lake with many recreational possibilities - kayaking, sailing non power boating - some for rent. 10 miles of paved bike trails and ALL paved campsites level and clean! Many clean and nice bathrooms which showers and FULL hookups for almost any size RV or camper. HIGHLY recommended! Nice campsite hosts and nicely spread out campsites with fire rings and picnic tables. No wi fi but Verizon service was good.
Needed a place to stay in northern Wisconsin for a week and this campground was available. Great place for kids, right on Pelican Lake for fishing and boating, and nice friendly staff. VERY clean!
Easy to make a reservation by either phone or e mail. Site was very clean and well spaced from other campers. Site was level and required no adjustments to level the RV. Wi Fi was a bit slow and we were completely unable to get any over the air and there was no cable tv available. Was a little disappointing as we wanted to watch the Olympics, but for the night, not a big deal. But the people were very nice and accommodating and the campsite was clean and quiet. The pool was also a beautiful plus and it was a perfect temperature for a nice relaxing after driving dip! Again, very clean and well maintained.
This little gem of a campground is kind of off the beaten path between Montgomery and Selma. The owners are very friendly and helpful and gave us a GREAT restaurant recommendation (Kimberleas - in old town Prattville) where we had OUTSTANDING meals! The campground is immaculate and very well maintained with each site carefully leveled with gravel to make set up easy! The sites are well placed and spread out so you don’t feel like you’re right on top of the campers next to you. Just a beautiful and bucolic setting and again, very very nice and helpful hosts! Highly recommended!
Really enjoyed our one night stay here! Super clean campground and very very nice and helpful customer service folks. Welcoming and friendly! The pool was super clean and the whole campground was immaculate! Noise was not an issue even though close proximity to the highway. We loved our short stay here and will be back!
