We stayed in campground #37 in Cedar Grove and thought it was wonderful. The site was spacious, and it had a water spout, a picnic table and fire pit. The trees are really pretty in this area. The bathrooms were not the cleanest I’ve seen during COVID times but the entire campground was empty so we were not super concerned. And they have showers, which is so nice. Definitely recommend!
We were there on a Tuesday in October and there were lots of spots open at 4pm but it was more crowded than I would have imagined. So I bet weekends are packed. Great camping spots and very close to the trails. Some of the spots get very wet even if it’s not raining due to the humidity of the rainforest so I’d recommend being prepared for that.
This was a great campground with lots of spots. We camped in front of the lake which was beautiful and unique. The big drawback for us is that the tent spots close to the water are near the highway and it’s very noisy. There’s a lot of truck traffic and it’s quite loud. I imagine that the spots farther from the water are less noisy but we didn’t try those out.
