Plenty of space among the beautiful evergreens. It’s a secluded spot. The stars are so big and numerous out here. It has everything you need.
We rolled in after dark. There are plenty of spaces. There are also plenty of people. This is a big area! The stars were out and shining. The only problem was the highway. The sounds of many semis and various vehicles might lull others to sleep but not me. Bring ear plugs and you will be fine!
We stayed here after exploring Sedona. It’s a short drive away. There are plenty of spots. The only downside is they are tricky to pull off of main road into. Be careful. All in all good views. The starlight here was magnificent. Turn off your lights and look up at night.
The path leads up a mountain away from the city lights of Tuscon. It’s just a short drive away. There’s plenty of spots. Watch out for huge ants! We almost camped on a mound. They won’t bother you however. All in all a good spot. It overlooks Saguaro National Park. You can see the many cacti from the ridge.
We arrived after dark. The road was easily accessible for a car. The site was cleared and ready for a tent. Las Cruces city glow is visible in the distance at night. The stars were out. We heard coyotes at some point in the night. The morning brought a brilliant sunrise over the mountains in the distance.
We arrived around midnight. There was a warm breeze blowing. Big ants strolled nearby but are easily avoidable. The place is right on a lake. The restroom is close by. It was a great experience! Would stay again. We did not see any possums but did see a large female dear grazing.
