Stayed for the 4th of July!

Escondido was there for us when all the other parks weren't. I was so happy they could fit us in without reservations, especially during the fourth of July. The staff was super friendly and had answers to all my questions about the surrounding area.

Be careful camping next to river in spring!

I love camping in this area. The rocks are the most beautiful and rock collectors' dream! Be careful camping next to the rivers as in early spring, waters rise in the evenings and will flood out the lower Plains. It was really exciting to see what the avalanche had done to the forest over the winter.

Trout Creek up to Hidden Lake

This hike into the lakes is not for the faint of heart, but the most breath taking views of Montana at its finest. There are plenty of Brook trout and huckleberries to eat at each trail and lake. There is also a lot of wild life, including mountain goats, moose, deer, and elk. Please make sure when bringing pets that they know not to chase these animals and always look at fire reports before heading into this area.

Go Cub Rangers!

Did you know you can print out a packet for your little ones to become Cub Rangers at this State Park? There are great amenities for both camping and RV'S with a child's playground located on the camp. With a short walk up and into the mountain you can tour the caverns.

HOTT!

This is a very hot but wonderful place to visit! Coming back a for a second go this summer (2018) showing my kiddos the wonders of the desert life. It is best to go later when the sun is cooling down although it will still be hott! Seeing Elephant Rock, the lizards, and crawling around the wind whipped terrain made me feel like I was a child again on a new playground. Bring water and take in the heat!

Apgar, perfect to hike and bike!

Apgar is easy to find and seems like there is always someplace for you to camp or park your RV. Be sure to bring your bicycles as there are many places to bike around in. They have boat and kayak rentals to take on the lake if you happen to not have any. There is a friendly staff with numerous places to eat and find souvenirs of your travels. Definitely recommended for your first stop in Glacier.

Carlsbad State Beach

So amazing. Coming from the northern Rocky Mountains, I wanted to take my pre-teens to the ocean for the first time before middle school started and Carlsbad State Beach was the perfect place to go! Parking was easy enough to find. The clean city and beach are very family friendly! There were perfect little waves for my family to adventure body boarding for the first time as well. I would definitely recommend this beach to anyone looking for a great day near the ocean

Yosemite National Park

As always, the park is beautiful. However, this is a huge tourist attraction.. the park was so overcrowded. Forget trying to get a RV into a parking spot or even camp without months ahead reservations. Also with my most sincere thoughts for the emergency crew and survivors of the wreck witnessed on the Tioga road, the park was unprepared for an accident of that magnitude. Please always drive safely!
