The campground has great access to Ruedi, is generally clean, and has potable water. However, the sites are extremely close together! Save the funds and camp in the national forest nearby.

This is the kind of campground where you camp to get some great views around the national park. Don't expect a lot of trees or really spread out sites. But, the sites are flat and clean (important when in a tent) and the bathrooms/showers are well kept. It's worth getting up early to catch sunrise over the Badlands.

I've camped here twice and done more than a few day trips to the Dream Stream to fly fish. If you camp at Eleven Mile, expect a lot of wind. It's ok for campers but is pretty miserable in a tent. The spots are nice and flat but are close together. The only people who camp at this state park are doing so to get a jump start on fishing some incredible water.
