Pretty nice park. The sites were pretty far away from the water, but were close to the restrooms and playground area. Good spot for fishing, but not really for swimming. Burn Ban was in effect and it seemed as if we weren’t trusted to obey the laws… The gate attendant kept close watch on us even though we kept our fire in the BBQ pit that was on site. At one point a Waco PD officer stopped by to check on us. I let him know that I was also LEO and had no intentions of breaking any laws. We weren’t bothered after that. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay at this park.
Beautiful park! Many shaded sites. Playground for the kids and swimming area. Lots of wildlife to look at.
Didn’t enjoy our stay. High banks made it impossible to get to the water. No swimming area or fishing area that we found. The rest of the camp ground had been flooded earlier in the year and was still closed. We tried to walk to the playground and was turned around by the park attendant. We just stayed in our camper the whole weekend. Not too fun…
Beautiful park! 60-70 tree covered camp sites. Roads were in good condition. Pet friendly. Plenty to do for the kids. Don’t really have anything negative to say about it other than the price tag. It was expensive, but we definitely got what we paid for. Several playgrounds, maze, volleyball, basketball, pond, and activities. We also visited the Waterpark that is joined to the park. The price of admission was very reasonable. Would recommend this park and will most likely be going back.
The park was nice, close to the beach, and had pretty low traffic compared to the rest of the island. The roads weren’t great and needed to be resurfaced. I picked a premium site that didn’t happen to be very premium. While the location of the site was perfect, all of the sites around me had concrete pads but mine… (I guess they hadn’t upgraded my site pad yet) the online map was showing a finished park with a boardwalk, showers and restrooms right behind my site (hints: the reason I chose this site) but it was all still under construction and not available for access. Other than those minor issues, it was an okay experience and for the size of the park, it was pretty quiet.
