Not a very big place but good family atmosphere. Sites are a bit small but well maintained. There’s a fishing pond with a small beach and paddle boats. There’s full hookups, a pavilion and the staff tries to have activities going on every weekend. On the down side most campers are seasonal so it’s hard to get a site.
The state park is really nice, very natural with beautiful views of the St Lawrence River but the beach needs to be cleaned up and the bathrooms are disgusting. There’s one small open field that has full hookups otherwise it’s power only.
It’s about a 50/50 of wooded to open sites. Decent amount of room in the sites. They advertise 30 amp but most are actually 20 amp and run on dangerously low voltage. Our site the electric was 75 feet away from the water hookup. Terrible setup.
Beautiful fairly new campground. Small beach area, zip line decent size store. The sites are spacious and clean. Bathrooms are spotless and the staff is second to none. Sites are water and electric with a dump station on the way out. I very strongly recommend this place. It’s still kinda small but expanding each year.
Nice place. Very clean cabins, store disc golf course. Across the road from a do it yourself quartz mine. Plenty of things to do including tubing the west Canada river. Easy in easy out for the tubing. Had a great time.
New York State pretty much has abandoned this park. Trees fallen down across the sites. Might be ok for a tent but that’s all.
Such potential gone to waste. Primitive camping, nasty outhouses good for kayaking/fishing but wake up New York you’re sitting on a gold mine here.
They’re finally adding a bunch of electric sites and have discontinued every other site in the deer run area. This makes the sites very large. There’s 30 and 50 amp hookups. There’s a disc golf course, many pavilions, a decent beach with concessions, a walking trail all the way are the lake and it’s accessible from multiple points. Great place for the family as they can be a bit strict on unruly behavior. The only downsides are the roads are rough and there’s little to no cell signal. That could be a plus for some though.
I’ve stayed here in the pine woods loop 3 times with my family. Some sites are a bit small and some are spacious so look them up on the website. They offer electric only in that loop but have full hookups in an open area. The bathrooms are nice, new and clean. You might find a wait because they don’t have a lot of them. The lakes and beach are beautiful and there’s a nice wide trail that would be good for handicapped people as well. Great opportunities for photo ops. I highly recommend.
The website shows pics of a really nice campground but on arrival you’ll find otherwise. We got lucky and got a good site with shade but most sites are tiny and wide open. The full hookups were good, there was a concrete pad and nice fire ring in our site. Otherwise the facility was very poorly maintained, it looked like 20 years ago it was nice but nothing has been done since. The place is truly a dump and for $115 a night I expected a nice place. Incredibly disappointed
