Just perfect

We are camping across America in a tent with our young toddler and 2 dogs. This place was great, clean, well kept, nice flush toilets with soap and working sinks. the pool was fantastic although entry to the pool is not included in your camping fee so be prepared to pay extra to get in the pool but totally worth it. Sites were close together with little privacy but flat. We had no shade at our spot but some of the other sites had more shade. Should have been more aware of that when we were looking at the map to pick our camping location.

We did see a coyote at the edge of the campground but our Great Pyrenees told him to keep moving.

We had so much fun here with our toddler and will definitely be staying when we come back through in the future.

Cool spot with horses but very loud.

We came in late and it was already dark. That may have contributed to the confusion in where to go when we first got there, but once we were there it was fine. Not a lot of privacy between spots but to pull in, set up camp and leave the next day it was worth it.

We LOVED visiting with the horses and they were very friendly and did not even mind when our dogs barked at them.

Biggest negative is that you can hear all the highway noise and trucks like to jake-break in this area. On the other side of the highway there were railroad tracks. The train blew its horn through this area ‘frequently and when it stopped you could hear all the train cars smashing together. This woke me up a couple times throughout the night but otherwise fine.

There is a pit toilet, with hand sanitizer.

Great spot to stop

We stopped here for a night while camping across the US with our 2 dogs, and young toddler. Very friendly staff. You have to get a fire pit and fire wood from the check in office but that was no big deal. They have a small playground and a basketball hoop with a tote of different types of balls to play with which was great for keeping the toddler out of the way while setting up camp. Showers/ bathrooms are small but the shower stall is narrow but long so there was plants of room just a tad awkward. We were so thankful for the shower as we had days of sunscreen and bug spray to wash off us.

Town is only a few minutes down the road and you can not ahead the highway from there.

Beautiful but a tad chilly

We loved our stay here, just a bit colder than I was expecting and after coming across the US in June I was not dressed for the cold. We had warm stuff and were totally fine just something to think about. We camped at tent site #3 because we could park right next to our camp site. There are camping spots back in the woods a bit that you can park right next to but we wanted to be on the lake. The sunset was breathtaking, and we had fun picking stones. Be sure to bring your UV light for finding yooper lights.

We lost cell service on the way there and got a bit nervous, taking screen shots of the map but there is service there.

Great place to stay

We called ahead so they were expecting us and the staff knew who we were when we pulled up. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautifully kept grounds with lots of lush grass. There is a lake/ river at the edge of the property with fish, plenty of frogs and I even saw a beaver or otter swimming across it. You can fish but it is catch and release. Surprisingly not buggy at all for being right by the water. The playground is great and they have lawn games and a large dog park. Nice clean bathrooms with hot showers and great water pressure. They even have a pool which I didn’t end up taking advantage of but would have had we stayed longer. They had the cutest little benches to sit on and look out over the water and at the stars. We also had so much fun chasing fireflies.

It is close to the highway and we could hear traffic but it was easy to tune out. The cicadas and bullfrogs are loud at night but we really enjoyed that.

Good potential but needs serious cleaning.

We called ahead and were told there was plenty of space and that they did not take reservations so we headed over there. When we got there, there was plenty of rv spots and the camp host told us to go down the far left dirt road to find a private spot by the lake.. there were some open spots but there was a lot of garbage and obvious areas of human feces, toilet paper and paper towels. The fire pits were piled with all kinds of garbage that probably needed gloves and hazmat suit to clean up. We are camping across the country with our 2 dogs and a young toddler and we did not feel it was safe to have out dogs or kid at these spaces due to the amount of garbage and whatever else was piled in there. That being said there were large groups of people camping at some of the other spots along the lake and seemed ok. We are driving a SUV with a cargo carrier on the hitch and found some of the road to be too uneven to drive with the rack on the back without scrapping.

Pros- they have a variety of very beautiful birds.

Definitely do not forget your bug spray as the flies bite hard and the ticks are thick.
