Excellent location!

15 minutes from Great Sand Dunes, plenty of pull off spots, we have a 39ft fifth wheel and found a great spot. Good cell service with Verizon. Beautiful views of Mt. Blanca and the surrounding ranges! Right down the road from Zapata Falls. Road is in good shape, zero issues!

Close to Bryce and Red Canyon!

Excellent camping spots. Good road. Plenty of spaces for big rigs. Shade if you want it, open fields for solar if needed. Verizon cell service was excellent. We found a spot a mile up the road that we liked. Quiet. Only saw a handful of other campers for the 2 days we were here. 15 minutes from Bryce NP.

Capitol Reef Boondocking

Just off of the main Hwy (24), road is in good shape. No clearance or 4WD needed. Plenty of open spaces for big rigs, we pull a 39ft fifth wheel and had lots of places to choose from. Spectacular views of the backside of Capital Reef Ntl Park. Stayed for a weekend and only saw 2-3 other campers. Perfect place to view the stars and the Milky Way! Great Dark Sky area for photography. Also had great cell service!

Wild Iris with a view!

Road in is in good shape. Sites are fairly large and we were able to find one with our 39ft fifth wheel without a problem! When you get the the hiking parking lot/bathroom, stay left. Great views of the quarry and surrounding valleys. Verizon cell signal is decent, was able to stream movie at night with light much delay. My husband worked during the day on his hotspot, only had a little interference when heavy clouds moved in later in the day.

Potentially a great spot

Not a lot of info listed for this location so adding a review to hopefully help out! We didn’t get to camp here but it made me leave “stars”.

The drive into the monument is easy, zero issues. Once the road turn to gravel, it gets steep. We have a 15k pound fifth wheel and a 2wd dually and we’re only able to make it a couple 100 yds up the hill before we started spinning. If you have 4WD you may be able to make it with a big rig, but might still be a little tricky with the gravel. We didn’t get to go very far, so if you have a bigger rig use caution. Up the hill it looked like a few sharp corners that may not be good for a bigger rig to get around with bad traction. We are not new to dispersed camping as it’s our primary camp type, this one just didn’t work out! Looked beautiful!

Great spot - quiet/beautiful views

Entered North Rd off of 16 coming from Custer. No problems driving up to camping area with our 39ft fifth wheel. At the top there are some great and large spots for bigger rigs. We found a spot on the right side of the road in a little meadow, across from the hill on the left. Like others mentioned, cell service is best near the “front” so when you get to the top pull out your phone to check service! We drove a few miles further down the road and the road was great the entire way. Zero issues! Highly recommend! Also, please don’t park right next to someone… it’s dispersed camping for a reason! Spread out, enjoy the mountain :)
