It was pretty simple to get to this location and to pay. It is first come fist serve, however, even in the middle of the afternoon they still had sites available. Cash or check in the self serve envelopes. Decent lighting around rest rooms. Had campfire areas and easy access to the river. It's about 7-8 miles off the main drive in Moab and about 15-20 minutes from the National Parks. There are Mountain biking trails close by as well.
During my trip in August all Colorado State parks had free entry for military members, so I only had to pay the campsite fee. The rangers were helpful when I asked about rifle falls. It is pretty easy to do typical camping, boating, fishing, kayaking, etc…here. No cell service. The sites were clean and well kept. There is not much for shade.
I stayed at tent site A27. It was clean, quiet, convenient. It's located near the rest rooms, showers and the food storage locker. Everyone who was on duty as a camp host was super knowledgeable and friendly.
When I arrived they did have a bear in moving through the campgrounds, however, during my stay there weee no bears in the area.
i really enjoyed my stay here. If you are looking for cell phone signal at your campground, you will not get it here.
