Beautiful Campground but Don't Book Spot 005!

The campground overall is really pretty and in a great location in Lake Arrowhead. However, we made the mistake of booking site 005, which is right on a ridge… it was SO windy. Stay away from any site in that vicinity, there are a few that are bad. It was freezing and we had a hard time with the smoke from our fire blowing in our faces all night. Also the site is on a hill, so our tents were slanted all night and it made for a miserable night. I do think the campground overall is really nice. There are bathrooms (but there is no light inside which is scary at night) with flush toilets. I did not see showers near us. There are 2 loop hiking trails that start inside the campground, we went on one and it was really nice and easy. Overall, nice campground and I would come here again, but definitely booking a site on the other side of the campground from spot 005.

Beautiful Campground On the Sea, Never Crowded

We come camping here every year and I love it! We're always able to get a spot, even in the busy season. It's busier than it used to be (used to be a ghost town), last time we were here, a lot of the spots were filled, but people are never obnoxious and I would never call this place crowded. The primitive sites are a 3 min walk to the beach. The hook-up sites are basically right on the Salton Sea Beach. There is a cute little Visitor's Center, as well as a cactus garden, and beach access for fishing and GORGEOUS SUNSET viewing. This is the favorite part of visiting. I believe it's $30/night for a primitive spot. Bathrooms are SUPER CLEAN and they have showers.

Very Clean, Great Location, The Best of Big Bear

I love this campground! It's right across from the Discovery Center in Big Bear, which is where a couple fun hiking trails begin. The campground itself is very clean. We were right by the restrooms, which was nice. Clean flush toilets and showers. Fire pit and picnic tables are at each site. We had a primitive site. I would definitely recommend this campground to others when staying in the Big Bear area. Great overall location and experience.
