Camping w/out Campfires

We stayed at this camp site at the end of August, 2018. There was a burn ban in effect due to wildfires all over the state. it was very smokey which blocked most views but we had no issues breathing and hiking. the trails around the camp site are great. awesome visitor center near by and river access. we camp in our RV and our friends bring tents. our two sites (30 and 32) mentioned they hold three tents each. we had 4 tents and there was NOT enough space! very small camp sites! but we made it work and had fun! there are waterfalls near by at the power plant that lights up at night! Everyone in our group who has Verizon had cell service.

Quiet little campground

there was enough driveway space for our 29’ RV and tow vehicle (Jeep), but the site itself was very large and spacious. The Bumping River was just off this site. mosquitos were not bad. it was quiet despite a full camp ground. Bumping Lake and hiking near by. Note: camp host is a few miles up at Soda Springs Campground for fire wood bundles.

Great Central Location

This KOA was busy!! We were never inconvenienced though! Very family and pet friendly. Staff was wonderful with great attitudes. My only negative was that the free WiFi did not work and our site was not mowed. We would return for sure. This KOA is directly across the street from Fort Stevens which was wonderful!

Great Location

We love that this is within walking distance to downtown Leavenworth (maybe 20 min walk). We loved this KOA during our first trip here. this visit we were not aware that everything was under construction. it was a little inconvenient, but fine. it’ll be great when it’s done. we will come back for sure.

Fun off-grid camping

We reserved sites 1 and 2 for our 29’ RV and friend’s tents (12 total people + 3 dogs) on Memorial Day weekend. We had plenty of space and the sites felt secluded from the other camp sites. We had a blast. You lose any GPS/phone reception in near by Randle but the directions from the camp’s website is spot on. Follow those directions and you’re golden. The flea market in near by Packwood is a must see! Each site includes picnic table and fire pit with fresh water near by.
