What a place! I saw no trash or broken glass, it was very clean. I got there after dark and left first thing in the morning, wish I had more time to explore. Sites only had a fire pit, I believe there are also pit toilets but I didn’t have time to check them out.
The road up is rough, potholes, it does get better about halfway up. Expect at least 30 minutes to get up after you hit the gravel, and that’s pushing it pretty hard.
You are supposed to have a Washington State Discovery pass to stay here, also they want you to fill out self registration once you arrive, fyi there are no pens onsite to do so.
This was a nice spot to stay the night, clean, nice picnic tables and fire pits, one pit toilet.
Wow what a place, I’ve never seen anything quite like it.
The road although incredibly long and winding was well maintained and I’m pretty sure even a car could make it without issue.
The drive up was a whole experience in itself, reminded me of Last of The Mohicans, don’t slip!
I went during hunting season without realizing it, out of the 10 sites 7 where taken up by hunters, but I only saw one person my whole stay.
Apparently people are reviewing the wrong campground. There are no showers or lake here. Just a nice peaceful campground in a small valley. Beautiful creek that flows close to most of the sites, wonderful sound to fall asleep to.
Most sites have picnic tables, grill or fire pit. Several sites are big enough to get a big rig in if needed. No hookups, pit toilets. Access via several miles of gravel but it was wonderfully maintained.
I reckon it’s a decent place to spend the night. The road up although somewhat steep at times can easily be accessed without 4WD. A few nice sites right as you enter with fire pits & picnic tables. Unfortunately most of the sites are right next to the road, which the locals seem to rule with their 4 wheelers and side by sides, making lots of noise and dust.
This place is in the middle of nowhere with no cell service. I drove all the way out here only to find the gate to someone’s ranch with a no trespassing sign. Super frustrating.
I believe I counted 4 total campsites at this place, I was the only one here towards the end of September on a Thursday night.
It is close to the highway and you can certainly hear it but it didn’t bother me, it’s kinda handy to have a place close to the highway when you’re just stopping for the night.
Single vault style toilet. There is a dumpster also.
38 Mph wind gusts all night long made for some miserable camping. Not sure if that’s normal around here or not. 305 & 304 are probably the only primitive campgrounds I would stay at, all the others are too close to the road and eachother with no privacy. A permit is required, mine cost $12.75, they can be purchased from the kiosk at the park entrance. Excellent phone service with Verizon.
Spent one night here, besides being right off the highway this place is amazing! Close to Marble which worked well for me. Several sites available when I stayed but I can see how it would fill up fast.
