Great spot with friendly hosts. Big potholes in the road and some low hanging branches however it's very quiet and the spots are clean and spread out.
⚠️Warning ⚠️ Google maps and waze will try and take you down a sand road with very low hanging branches, THIS IS NOT THE ENTRANCE YOU WILL GET STUCK AND HAVE TO BACK OUT.
Go about a mile down the road to the spot where the national park campground sign is. You will see a loop on the Google maps overhead view. It is NOT the long road that looks overgrown. Don't make the same mistake we did. ⚠️🤣
Great place for camping when racing events are happening. Big open grassy field with tons of level spots to park. Verizon works with a booster and of course Starlink works great as their aren't many trees.
Overall we loved this place as it was FREE as we bought tickets to the race camping was included!
Great spot that is cheaper than most places nearby. Scott was really nice and got us checked in without any issues. Great location and near to fishing, restaurants and the beach.
What a great little spot to visit. They have many sites in the field or in the woods. Most with electric 30/50 amp and a beautiful lake with many family friendly things to do. The people are friendly and they have clean showers and bathrooms along with laundry.
Great place to escape from the city and get to cooler Temps. We came early May and stayed at site 14. It was 60s in the daytime and mid 30s at night. Might need an extra blanket if staying in a tent. People are friendly and sites are easy to get to. Make sure to have some clearance as the road washes out in spots and gets bumpy. You could make it in 2 wheel drive but wouldn't recommend a small car. Or vehicles smaller than a SUV.
Wind picks up in the morning and late afternoon. It's so loud sometimes it sounds like a waterfall crashing down. Very tranquil and peaceful spot and quiet at night.
