Amazing

This is an awesome campground. Almost Resort style camping.

The check in process was simple and easy. The sites are easy to get to and into. They have concrete slabs, the sites are well groomed and there is plenty of space.

I normally don't care for camping where there are seasonal campers but the seasonal residents here, that we met, were very nice and friendly. We stayed in the Parkside.

I will allow the photos to give you a feel for the park.

Nice

Longs Family Retreat was nice. There are more seasonal campers here than I expected. Nevertheless, they were nice and friendly. Our site was right by the creek and there was plenty of space.

The children had an awesome time. There are several water activities for them to enjoy. Nice and peaceful.

LOVED IT!

This was our first trip on this side of the lake and we absolutely loved it! We stayed at the State Park campground. We we're on the pier side and it was amazing watching the water toys and people watch. Very close walk to town and the fountain water light show, nice bike path and clean bathrooms. Also, they are constructing a new bathroom on the pier side. Currently the pier is closed at the first light house due to renovations. Sites are not very large but the trade off is so worth it. Quite time is 11 pm so great for couples to make a late night romantic stroll down the pier or beach.

No need for words!

Not much context is need to share how nice this Resort is! We loved it so much that we booked two years. Even a "bad" site is still a good site here!

Halloween Weekend

Third year attending this weekend for Halloween. I never decorate for Halloween but with everything going on in 2020 I said what the heck. I think it turned out nice but not good enough to be a winner. This KOA is a Holiday and there is plenty of staff and activities for the entire family.

It was OK

This is our second time staying at this park. The first time it was at the end of the season so I figured I would at least give it a second try. This is a 3.5 rating in my opinion but it has to be a 3 or 4 star. Awesome host, very attentive, pleasant, polite and helpful. She is everywhere and doing everything. The campgrounds have several sites in multiple sections. I love the large fire pits. There is plenty for the children to do, basketball court included the 13 year old rated it 4 5 and stated a pretty nice playground. There are sever beanbag toss games. I believe you have to bring your own bags. I wish there was a little more effort put into the grounds themselves. Gravel on the drives going to the sites, hay/straw for areas where mud is present, fill in some of the standing water sites and have a few more full hook up pull through sites. Also, I was not happy with the location of my firepit, I felt like we were right outside our neighbors window. It was too far from the site itself and too close to the road. We had a wonderful time while we were here and this was our second visit. I was happy there were sites for all 6 families in a short time period.

Nice & Quaint

We arrived this past weekend and I am very satisfied from our first night experience. We walked the trail Saturday morning and walked around the site (which is small but nice). We have a site right on the creek and have seen a few boats come through. The owner is very nice and communicative. They have a Creekside Bar with a nice patio area. Also, for a small campground they have a well stocked campsite store.

Very nice

We love paint Creek. Please make sure you check the grade of the site as there are several that have a nice slope. We didn't make it out on the water due to the rain but maybe next time.

Awesome - Flexibility

I love this campground. There are several different types of sites to choose from. Not just full hook up, electric, water and tent VS RV. They have sites that are typical, sites that extend into a private wooded area, a site with a water view, and sites that extend into the woods that join together where multiple campers can join together.

We did a little family reunion here. This way each family had their own site and could walk into the woods down their own path to be together. So peaceful, you are not allowed to put up tents in these areas due to potential falling trees but it is nice to enjoy.

Several walking paths and some will lead you to the water.
