Mostly level sites with options for tenting or rv. Sites are primitive, electric only or full hookup. Several back to to the lake. The lake is great for fishing, kayaking or swimming.
We stumbled upon this campground after a last minute change in plans and were very pleasantly surprised. It is a privately owned campground by a Christian owned campground. If you are not religious, don't let the fact that it's a Christian park, scare you away. There is a lake for swimming and fishing (with paddle boats and kayaks available to use for free, a very nice playground and the camp hosts kid/family activities on most weekends. The sites are a little tight but are very shaded and well maintained. The shower houses were some of the best we've seen and its very affordable at $35/night. The only downside is they don't allow alcohol. This can also be a benefit as there wasn't anyone up partying all night and the park was very quiet.
We ended up at this campground after a very late decision to book a trip in July. It was a very nice surprise. It is under new ownership and this is their 1st summer open. The host was great and very friendly. The sites and shower house were very nice and there is a nice view of the black hills. Only a handful of sites but sounds like they are in the process of adding more. The brewery/ restaurant on the adjacent property is an added benefit. Would definitely stay here again!
The campground has an amazing view of the badlands and is only a mile outside of the National Park. The bathrooms/showers were small but kept clean and nice. Sites were a little tight and fire rings were very small, however for a night or 2 it is a very nice campground. Has a pool, playground, and small store also.
