Looks like the area is no longer available for camping

I drove up to the area and a long the path they have put a row of rocks and gravel about a foot foot and a half tall to keep people from driving through so you can't access the dirt path to get to the area anymore. Also there was some clearing about two miles before that closer to the highway that had a sign that said area closed road closed no camping no soliciting

Very easy access many spots to camp

Very easy access relatively close to shopping. Out of the way. However there is a light to moderate amount of garbage. It is near a highway and you do hear traffic. Extremely easy to access and there are many spots and the land is pretty full of campers some look like their full-timers or permanent the sign does say 14 day limit. I saw two tent campers as well. There are two or three entrances all on the same road and the camping area is cordoned off with a metal cable so the land cannot be used as a drive-thru or pass through area. The weather is moderate in the 70s during the day down to the lower 50s at night I got here the day before Halloween.

Hidden gem in plain sight

I stay here for 3 days while visiting meteor crater. There is a constant background of traffic on I-40 but for the most part it's pretty eventless. Not only is this a ghost town but is a ghost RV park as well. I visited the nearby death caves. Very interesting.

Great little place out of the way among many great places around here

I stayed at the top of the first Hill on the left near the information station. T-Mobile cell service is decent. You're far enough away from the road to not hear traffic noise however the helicopters go by from 8:00 a.m. until about 8:00 p.m.. they come by about every half hour. Being that it's the beginning of the road 302 you do get a little bit of cars driving for further spots. All in all great little place.

Very quiet totally private

This is my third night of 5. Every night has been very quiet. There are campers around but you barely hear them or see them during the day. At night you could sometimes catch a light. T-Mobile cell service for the phone calls is great for data it's. Almost done existent. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Not easily accessible

The two closest roads coming in from the West are blocked off and labeled no unauthorized vehicles. This is due to the construction of the new neighborhoods and they probably annexed the area. You could probably access it from the East but I have no idea how many miles it would be in from where you would come in.

Complete trash dump

It's sad where we have this public land to camp on and people just dump tons and tons of trash and abandoned cars and demolished cars on the property would not recommend going. There's some more BLM land about 15 to 20 minutes north on Red Rock road.

Very quiet out of the way.

I stayed for one night before before going to Reno. The sun was setting I didn't want to set up in the dark. Got stuck setting up in the dark anyway. The dirt road on the way to the campsite is pretty washboarded. The campsite itself was about 2/3 full. Looks like a couple campers were here for quite a while.

Very clean and almost level

I stayed here three nights while visiting the redwood Forest and I went to the casino one night. It's very clean you can't hear the highway noise at night. There is a chance that a medevac helicopter comes in. It did while I was here.

Great little stop for the night

The river is loud you could hear it from both sides of the road. I actually looked, and there are rivers on both sides of the road. It is out of the way there is no light pollution. At night cars rarely come by. The campsite was clean and relatively level. However bring an extra block for your tongue jack. The only reason it wasn't five stars is because there's absolutely no T-Mobile cellular internet service. There is cell phone operation.

Very quiet out of the way boondocking area

What an amazing spot. Many of the spots are RV accessible a decent gravel road goes through the entire area. Very little traffic people seem to care about the area cuz it's really clean. No hookups excellent phone service cell phone towers just around the corner. No traffic noise. Depending on where you are in the camp you will hear a train come by every couple hours. It's not too close I'm not too loud. Around 2:00 a.m. every morning the coyotes have a 2 to 3 minute party. It's amazing to hear him. Never saw one though they keep away.

Quiet little Park clean and safe

This park accepts Good Sam discounts. There are a few full timers but are kept clean. The park is right on the edge of town. Nestled between a river and a horse farm he will hear a rooster everyday you will hear a donkey. There are wild turkey in the area but they're quite quiet. I paid just under $150 a week. Laundry machines work well there are two washers and two dryers buck and a quarter each. They have showers. They have a tent area for tent camping. There is usually no one on duty but they do have propane I just don't know how to use it or get it. There is a Wi-Fi password and the cell phone signal is not bad. I use T-Mobile. 5 minutes away from a decent grocery store. 30 minutes away from Miller's home improvement and Walmart. And did I mention full hookups.

Hidden gem in Columbus Wyoming

Clean quiet at night. Family and pet friendly. Large campsites each with a picnic table and fire pit. Public toilets non-threaded water spigot near the entrance. Water quality is great. 64 outlets on four different light posts near communal bathroom and shelter area. With a long enough extension cord you might be able to get to your campsite but I doubt it. Close to the river. I feel safe here. I got here on August 30th and stay till September 3rd that's why I chose month of September.

Quiet and away from everything

A heap of broken if I would have known about the road before traveling up it I would never have taken my 29 ft trailer to the top. However I did make it. It's a beautiful place away from everything very quiet. I will add more to this review after I spend the night or two.

Quite a surprise.

This Park is kept very clean. Laundry room and machines are organized and in great operating condition. Bathrooms and showers are cleaned very often. RV spots are level. HRV spot has a picnic bench water and electric. And there are also quite a few with sewer as well. One downfall is the highway and the train. It's not a very busy part of the highway and the train only comes by once or twice a day nothing at night. No train horns and the trains are quite short. The staff are very friendly. I was extremely pleased with the RV park and everything about it.

My second stay here

I was here for three months this time as i get to business completed.  The park was still kept up very nicely and this time I was here long enough to be able to see how.  The grass is mowed every week.  There is patroling at all hours for security.  The laundry machines are great the dryers ore good.  The dog park is clean and secure.  The lake is natural and kept free of litter and garbage.  The park is much bigger than i thought it was last year.  The store has many items you may need.  The showers are cleaned and work great.  The camp water is high in Iron.  The pot roads need service as thay do have a lot of pot holes.  Good thing for the 5mph speed limit.

simply amazing views and a perfect ballance of sun and wind to keep it grea

I camping here from 8/15 to 8/21.   Far, the weather has been amazing.  I moved spots about 3 days in.  The first spot was great except for Cell Service (t-mobile) that exact spot was a dead spot.  After moving south one spot about 60 feet, i went from 1-2mb/s to 40-60mb/s.  Roads are rough but do-able I am pulling a 29ft toyhauler with a Chevy silverado 1500.  I cecomend taking the north entrance or if taking the main (by Radio towers) then turn left when you get to the wall.

Very very very very friendly manager

I went in after filling up and asked if there was overnight parking allowed for rvers she said yes how big is your RV I have a 29 foot and she said there's two spots that are perfect for our beers she pointed them out one is right near a fire hydrant but not in the red marked area. The other was across from the entrance way to that. It was a little bit distance away from the trucks and their parking so the noise from their engines constantly running does not bother you as much. There's also a Subway in the store and they have a lot of other items that can be purchased as well

Virtually noises

I'm spending three nights here. I'm writing my review after my second day. The campground is kept up very well. It has garbage cans and porta pottys. When I got here it was empty. Nice open spots and a good amount of tree cover.

Nice fenced in yard great for the dogs

Paved roads to every campsite. Gravel pads for the RV. Close to town. Decent dog park. Extensive gym and fairly decent laundry room.
