Great location right by the water depending on spot allows for better lake views. They have full site hookups with the spots on gravel. There is also boat ramp right next to site and picnic areas. Also near by is a beautiful city park that is within walking distance from site. Since it on a lake the closet gas stations are about 7 miles away.
Two things I love:
- It’s by the water
- It’s close to the city
Thing I don’t love: There isn’t really any shaded spots.
This location is a great find especially in the Texas heat! This use to be a KOA but now an adult resort I really like the changes they are making including some spots will have grill with patio seating. Most spots they have are fully shaded with trees and the area is kept immaculate for the next person arriving. Several RV parks in the area did not offer any shade I cannot imagine the heat especially the day I left it was 100 degrees. There are two wineries in walking distance which are not only convenient for safety but allow no hassle trying to park. There is also a gas station right across the street making filling up east. Another amenity they added is an actual park spot next you site making parking convenient. Lastly, I love animals and the ones within and surrounding were so cute.
30 minutes out from downtown Fredericksburg for those not doing overnight stay. Prior to enter park there are many flashing signs stating you must have a reservation before entry. When entering park you can stay all day but come at designated entry time. Due to the popularity of the park and time of entry you could be required to park further away. The map is great reference to type of hiking/trails available but also to consider the weather because there is minimum to protect your from the elements. Also, if hiking in the summer I would be cautious hiking midday. I made back down before it hit 90 degrees but even going down I was using my water back. I saw several with toddlers go up part the summit but did not finish the hike. One person was not successful with their child in a hiking backpacks due to steepness of area and heat. If you are a expert hiker with children this is for you I consider this too difficult for toddlers without several breaks. The top really does have stunning views with cooler on this at the top with nice breezes.
Two things I liked:
The map is spot on and they have several warnings about considering hiking the summit.
The views are breath taking in beauty and exercise.
One thing I didn’t love:
- It was really crowded in the more rocky areas which for short bit make it a potential ankle twister.
The sites are located close to the water with full-hook ups available. Most spots are gravel but depending on lake level some spots now have grass. The better sites have their own covered picnic tables. Some sites have tree with shade closer spot to the water do not any trees or picnic tables. There is store on site however the nearest gas station is a few miles out. There is also mobile home to rent out and they do allow for rent camping. Pets allowed but there is no designated area so must be picked up after. It’s really busy during holiday peak times when we went but it wasn’t as bad as most lakes in the area. Pull through spots are available and some spots are park as you choose. This place isn’t a resort has all amenities but it is right by the water and if you have a boat it’s not a short distance to dock.
Two things I love:
- It is right by the water
- The store was pretty well stocked
One thing I didn’t love: Some areas are park as you can fit and not paved or gravel.
At first entrance it appears as if you are entering a large parking lot. There is a large pavilion to picnic and pet area by the water. Each site requires a 50 amp but the office will offer one for purchase if you need a 50 to 30 amp connections. The center lot is for pull through sites the other site areas non-pull through by water and fence. The fence area is close to the bridge but could be limited with views since it is far away from the water and Class A frequent area.
Two things I love:
- The unique downtown riverside views
- The ease of getting to this RV park even though it is downtown Little Rock.
We opted for the pull through site here which required us to pull through an old campsite but nonetheless it was easy to unhitch. This area like many RV vacation spots have some permanent trailers mixed with backup spot and pull through. As for the area there is numerous activities for children including a game room, park, pool, basketball court. The campsite had full site hookups, picnic table and ring offered at each campsite for fires.
Two things I loved:
- Close to the Jersey Shore
- Offer several amenities including Laundry facilities
One thing I didn’t love:
- Being close to the bathroom folks walked through our site as short cut to get to the bathroom.
Smaller state park with lots of shade in the Texas heat. The areas has plenty of place to picnic and walk around. A few trails with a small pond that connects a few together. There is also a pool area this must be booked along with your site reservations. There are also place to tent camp, cabins and yurts with electricity to rent. The sites vary from full hookups to water and electricity. Each site is private and not to close each with plenty of privacy. There is also a lake that’s outside of campsite area that can be busted up the road.
Two things I love:
- Shade and privacy
- Picnic table and fire pit at full site hook up.
One thing I didn’t like:
- Road is currently damaged for easier exit so their is a detour.
I scored this a 4 because you can’t beat the price for area. However my biggest issue is the sand for all pull-throughs. They do offer full hookups that include cable if you have the outdoor wire. Plenty of activities for kids with park area and pool. They do also offer golf cart rental for those wanting explore the park. The park consists of permanent trailers, many tents for places to camp. There is lake in the middle and spots available along the water with their own dock.
Two things I loved:
- Cost
- Shade
One thing didn’t love:
- Sand… so hard even with rugs to pull out of trailer.
This park is close to highway and great for overnight stay. The park has pull through full site hookups. The park has a pond that is the center of the entire campground. The park has two dog parks available as well for those traveling with pets.
Two things I loved:
- Close to highway quick stay
- The pond nice view with ducklings
One thing I didn’t love: Really close to others for extended stays.
If you are fearless and willing to take your RV up a beautiful small winding road into the mountains this is the place for you. However, for myself it rained… so it was quite the experience driving up and considering the limited visibility. Also when I arrived at my site there was no power on the entire mountain. Then to further the adventure the rain turned into a flash flood and my site was not flat so we continuously kept sinking and sliding through the night. Lastly, like all the reviews it is such a beautiful place once the rained cleared but I can’t say it enough the weather is something to consider for this location.
Two things I loved:
- Stunning views on top of the mountain
- Didn’t stay in them but thier yurts looked amazing.
One thing I didn’t like:
- Near death trying to go up this mountain in treacherous weather.
This park was stunning the drive though a little narrow at times was scenic from the drive to the RV site. Pull Through with own area not to close to other sites. Also a short walk to the lakeside beach and park.
Two things l loved:
- The site setup is a really nice paved driveway with perfect patios area private and plenty of space from neighbors.
- The stunning views with multiple deer walking close by but not too close.
This campground is well maintained and offers beautiful landscaping. It is close to the highway as well so for those looking for a quick stop.
2 things I loved:
- Being summer in Kentucky in this beautifully landscaped RV park.
- Very well managed sites
One thing I didn’t love:
- You have to wait to be golf car escorted to your site. I think it should be offered versus required.
This site is tied to the hotel and you must park at hotel prior to entry. There are pull-in sites with full site hook ups at location. The views once hooked up are gorgeous but this is a tight fit especially for those with slides.
Two things I loved:
Very clean well maintained site with beautiful views
Nice scenic place to walk
One thing I didn’t like:
- You have to go in the hotel to get in? So parking could be challenging on a busy day to get in.
