Great location in the park

The campground is within walking distance to the Visitor Center and cave tours, as well as the camp store. Clean washrooms. The only firewood sold is "compressed sawdust," which burns surprisingly well, but looks like Lego blocks.

Beautiful hidden gem

This campground is stunning and truly a hidden gem in Mt. Rogers. There are some open sites and several secluded sites. Many abut a creek or secluded forest. I wish I had known that the best route into the campground is 16 to 650. Instead, I took 650 from the north west, which turns out to be a 4 mile stretch of gravel road - which my little car had a rough time handling.

Stunning sunset

Only in for a night. Easy to find. Didn't see a bad site here. Tents only. Site 041 is the best - I was right on the lake. The weather was perfect so I slept with the rainfly off and the stars and still of the lake are wonderful.
