The campground is located just 3 miles from downtown Traverse City but feels remote. The sites are large, shaded by tall trees. East Bay beach is beautiful and you can swim or rent kayaks and stand up paddle boards right on the beach. The TART bike path on the opposite side of the campground is very convenient and great for getting around.
We’ve stayed here once before and returned because of the beautiful location. The bathhouses are clean, private and conveniently located. We biked to local restaurants and the Adirondack Wildlife Refuge.
We camped in loop F site 43 with full hookups, nice asphalt pad picnic table and fire ring. Our site is located adjacent to a mowed grass path that leads to the main road, close to the camp store. Beautiful area, lots of hiking and biking trails and swim area.
