Another great National Forest campsite. All sites are paved; minimal leveling required. Lots of trees and shade -- plenty of room for the hamock and screenhouse. No individual water at sites, but potable water available at the dump station. Hosts were visible and attentive.

Bathhouse was clean with large, individual showers.

Mostly TTs and big rigs -- only saw 2 tents. Hiking trails and boat ramp located 0.5 miles away, within the park. There is a marine airfield nearby, so you will hear planes and "booms" occasionally. Would have given this one a "10" if it had water hookups.

A small (only 34 spots) but relatively new (or refurbished) state park. Our site required minimal leveling. Interior roads were all paved and easy to navigate -- no low-hanging branches. The camp hosts were visible and attentive. Unlike other NC State Parks, the bath house seemed quite new and was spacious. Showers were hot and had great water pressure. Half the sites have electric, none have individual water. There are communal water spigots throughout the campground, but they don't easily allow hose connections, so be sure to fill your water tank before arriving (there's no potable water at the dump station, either). LOTS of hiking and horse trails throughout the park. The mountain biking trails were closed during our visit. Limited cellphone coverage (3G was spotty). The Ranger and local Sheriff made several drives through the park. Overall, another top-notch experience at an NC State Park.

A great municipal park with 3 camping loops:

• Loop A has no hookups and is for tents.
• Loop B is heavily wooded with 30amp and water every-other site. You may need as much as 50' water hose. If you're longer than 30' you may find Loop B tough to navigate.
• Loop C is basically a field with RV parking along the perimeter.

The park has several ponds (fishing) and about 10 miles of hiking and biking trails. Several large play areas for the kiddies and a pool (extra fee). There are two dump stations and two (older, but usable) bath houses.
