The rates were very reasonable and the park seemed to be safe. However, the pads are extremely close together. If you are staying longer than one or two nights, I would prefer a quieter place. The park is located right next to I-10 and along a road. Unfortunately, it is very noisy all night from traffic. Make sure you get a spot on the far side.
Bottomless lakes has the best sunset views. It’s only 20 min from Roswell. The sites have enough room between each other. There is a large swimming area as well.
Colt creek was a great trip. There’s plenty of room between neighbors and it was very quiet. The pads are gravel. The park is very well maintained and clean. I did not have cell signal while I was there.
Very affordable rates. We stopped in for the night on our way through. It is a small park but has plenty of room to turn around. It was quiet and the staff are very friendly. It’s only minutes from downtown.
Great covered picnic area. Plenty of options with the recreation center, pool, and playground. Lots of open space right on the lake.
The FamCamp is small and simple but affordable place to stay while you’re in town. Although the sites are paved, there is mud everywhere during rainfall. Only one side has shade.
The only things to do at the campground are biking and hose back riding. The campsites are spread out. Campfires were permitted. No sewer connections.
The best thing about this park is the reasonable rates with its proximity to Tampa. Unfortunately, the sites did not have sewer connections so we had to bring the portable tank. It is very shaded. Bugs do get very bad though so come prepared.
The FamCamp at Patrick is great. They have waterfront sites available. Amazing views watching the sun set in the evening. The view faces west. Ocean beaches are right outside of the gate.
I absolutely loved the MacDill FamCamp. It’s right by the beach and marina. There’s a small dog beach and two dog parks. Laundry facilities are centrally located. Cable is included. I recommend bringing a Verizon hotspot or stopping at spectrum and getting a WiFi plan. cellular service is not great, especially for data.
So glad I decided to stay here. This is a great park tucked away from everything yet only 15 minutes to bourbon street and 10 minutes to Frenchmen. Great place to stay on the water.
