First off, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. A quaint office upon entry with nice staff and game room attached. Our site was right along the river. Be aware that the sites along the river, while waterfront and nice, do suffer from road noise coming from NH28. Obviously not the campgrounds fault by any means. The river was rather shallow but there is a swimming area downstream that would be deep enough for a swim. I didn’t catch any fish but did see a number of small minnows. The campground is nice and the sites are spaced out and private. We did happen to see a flock of geese flying down the river. I would come back but perhaps pick a site in the wooded areas before I picked a river site again.
We stayed in the “new sites” adjacent to the entrance road; it was a long nice site with gravel but was not private. Most sites are packed in; close to others with not a lot of privacy. Overall the campground has some nice sites along the lake. The staff was friendly and accommodating. A lot of seasonal sites
Campground is peaceful and quiet; the lake is within close proximity to most sites; I wouldn’t say it’s the best place for swimming but overall a great place to launch a kayak or canoe and paddle about! The staff is friendly and pet friendly! They do have golf cart rentals available. We would recommend! T-18 is a nice private site!
Such a nice campground! All sites are very private. Some of the clintel is a bit noisy but overall a very nice spot to camp cheap! Roads are paved.
This place was certainly beautiful; our site was right on the pond; even though the electric and water hookups were a little funky. Overall a beautiful spot high in the mountains. Be aware; there is zero cell service at the campground. To get decent service it’s a bit of a drive. Also FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE CAMPGROUND WEBSITE. VA56 is a very windy road not recommended for pulling a camper through. Use the blue ridge parkway.
For a smaller campground it was everything we wanted; it was quiet; and the sites were a good size for our pop up; we stayed at site 20; which was the biggest along the waterfront. There is a nice walking trail and peaceful water view sites. The staff was super friendly and made our stay very enjoyable! Sites of all sizes from tent sites to large pull through sites for the big rigs! We will deff be back! Smaller camp store but there is a hardware/general store right down the road. Close to ATV trails. Ports potties were exceptionally clean. Propane is also sold on site. Pet friendly with appropriate documentation. I look forward to our next trip!
