Another awesome state park in the rolling hills near Austin. Great camping site 2ith many activities. The water is as little dark, but nonetheless fairly clean. Devils water hole is popular among campers as you can go cliff diving there. Overall great state park!

Garner state park has been one of my most favorite campgrounds in south texas. From the months of July through August..Garner hosts multiple events and a nightly dance at the dance hall. .Most campgrounds here give you access to the frio river. During the summer months, the campsites get reserved up fairly quickly so maybe a week in advance will do. Great state park with many things to do!

So there really isn't a campground at rattlesnake lake, but there is a day use area that gives you access to the beautiful view of the mountains and lake. On weekends, this gem may get extremely busy so highly recommended going early. The hike up via rattlesnake ledge trail is approximately 5 miles takes you to an amazing view from above. Dog and family friendly.
