This is a great spot when you want to get out of town but also don't want to travel far. You'll forget how close you are! Family & beginner friendly for sure.
I find it's not the most well known spot, but why I don't know. Incredible views of Hood, low key, and great fishing.
I love Newberry, and this is a great spot to camp. The rangers are super nice and accommodating, and have everything you would need. Great fishing, hookups, Paulina Lake and the Newberry volcano are must sees. Plus hot springs
The confluence of the Clackamas and Willamette river's, this is a great spot with most amenities, still inside Portland metro, right off 205 but incredibly serene nonetheless. RV hookups, boat launch, great fishing.
Right in the heart of the Gorge and situated conveniently on the Columbia and within a couple miles of numerous easy/medium waterfall hikes. Great disc golfing and trout fishing too.
Right on the Clackamas River, and this is just absolutely gorgeous country. Top it off this is definitely one of the top ten best disc golf courses in America to visit. A must see stop for sure.
Beautiful views, very informative geologolical history.
Amazing spot to visit. The lake is great for fishing, hiking, and has amazing hot springs on one side. The whole thing is on the Newberry Volcanic monument which is super interesting geologically and historically. Campgrounds are well maintained.
Absolutely love it here. Nice beach to stroll or walk out on to the jetty. Great year round
Big bang for the buck. Many trails, many waterfalls, well laid out so even though crowded you get to enjoy your space. Definite must see.
Absolutely beautiful destination. Recommend weekdays or early mornings if you want to miss the crowds. Too packed for my taste, but you can tell high. Hot springs were very hot, includes private rooms, but expect to wait.
Great spot to hit along the Gorge. Great views of the Columbia, ample parking, and a nice disc golf course to boot.
Right off the exit of 205, it's very easy to get to, and a beautiful spot where the Clackamas flows into the Willamette. There's gas and dining within walking distance, multiple boat launches, nearby rentals, and lots of wildlife. Great community as well. However, may not be open for RVs and camping due to Covid.
Some of the absolute best musical acts in the country stop here, probably one of the top ten outdoor venues. The views are incredible, and it's worth the trip. Lots of tiered pricing options. Be prepared for wind, and realize the closest town/gas station is 6 miles out, though they do have a store on site. Definitely bucket list destination though.
This is a beautiful campground, and a great spot to festival. String Summit is an incredible experience to be had, owners are super low key and it's always a lot of fun. Plus they have 3 disc golf courses, that are very unique, both challenging and a putter course with lots of obstacles and elevation changes. Highly recommend - oh and peacocks!
