Whitetail deer, owls, fish/gar, butterflies, dragonflies, fireflies, and much more! Sites right on the Lake. Two Disc Golf Courses and hiking trails. Nice facilities with all lodging options from primitive tent, yurt, RV hookups, and cabins.
Quaint but Large with Plenty to Do!! Swim in the Lake or hike up a stream, but found a sneaky snake and some ticks. Facilities were well maintained. Driving distance to all the other attractions was also a plus! Just Ideal!!
We enjoyed camping, swimming, and the zoo! Bottom of the lake is gushy, but made for a laughing experience. Park Rangers came by and chatted.
Nice to sleep when you can slightly hear the waves. Great facilities. Explore the Fort. Hang out at the beach. Kiting is great because it is not as crowded. Known for best shark fishing in the pass.
Bodcau has a wonderful new disc golf course! Among tons of land to explore. Campground in by the Reservoir/Dam. Great facilities and well maintained. Park of kiddos, fish cleaning station, gun range, and much more!
We very much enjoyed taking photos looking off the mountain. Missed the water to play in along the hiking trail due to an unseasonable drought but little caves were nice to explore.
Limited camp sites; first come first serve at times… Group Camp can be reserved thru Rangers Station. No showers, but bathrooms. At times they can smell, but never bothered me enough not to return.
River is divine! Hiking down to swimming holes you’ll see natural jacuzzi areas to sit between the falls. Hiking also requires some rock climbing. We take our border collies and they are able to follow with minimal assistance.
Tent camped with a view of the lake. Facilities were well maintained. Hosts were very friendly. Easy to collect firewood. Definitely recommend even if you don’t have a boat.
