Enjoyed the area and the fishing very much. This campground is a very busy place though. Sites are pretty close together and there is a lot of people. There is a disc golf course that is almost on top of the “primitive “ camping area. Good price, I think it was 24$ per night for a tent. Decent shower and bathroom facilities. Great views of Lake Chickamauga.
Better than described. Showers‼️ Very clean facilities. Potable water. Lake had Alligators in it. Fire ban. Great hosts. Another great stop in Big Cypress. Great fishing in the area. Fresh and salt. I saw multiple pythons nearby. No ground animals. None. Bugs weren’t bad. Try to get a site with shade, many didn’t. I spent 4 extra bucks and took an RV site in the back. Well worth it.
I was the only one camping. Loved it. Saw a bobcat and a billion alligators. The best fresh water fishing around is close to this campground. No water. Clean vault. Great hosts, very knowledgeable about the area, Brent and Tim. Beautiful country. Fire ban has been in effect in Big Cypress. End of the campground there is an airboat launch that was cool to watch. Did I mention fishing❓‼️ Peacock bass galore. Largemouth, warmouth, bowfin, gar and many imports. Hope you enjoy this area as much as I did
Nice campground. Clean facilities. Not much shade. Look or ask for a site with shade. 24$ for a tent. Visited the NIKE site, cool. Hidden lake was beautiful. Lots and lots of Gators. No ground or tree animals at all. The Eco tour personnel said the pythons have eaten over 90% of animals in the Glades. Sad. Beautiful birds. Saw multiple owls.
Loved the campground. I stayed during the week and it was mostly quiet. This is the place to be if you like to fish, kayak or want to be alone.. I can’t say enough about the fishing. Many Crocodiles. The 1.5 hour boat tours are both well worth the 35$. Make sure you ask for a site with shade‼️
This chickee was just as described. I will warn all that this can be a tough adventure if paddling. Make sure you go with the tide, it was moving 3-4 during my paddle. Fishing is epic, even from the chickee. Stay quiet and look under the platform, tarpon, snook and drum were always around. Bugs were tough sunset and sunrise. Perfect overnight if you’re doing the water trail. Also, this is actually 2 bookable sites. Both nights I stayed, another group showed up late afternoon.
Exactly as described. The host was great and helpful. Porta potties available, but no drinkable water. Dusty. Bugs weren’t terrible at all. Fishing in the canals is excellent.
The host was helpful and informative. Great quiet place. Plenty of carts to move your gear and none of the sites are far from the parking lot. I would definitely recommend this place. Biking, fishing, hiking and camping, nothing better. If you’re looking for fish and have a kayak, Telegraph creek is 3 miles away and full of fish and Alligators 😃
Stayed 5 nights in the tent area. Very clean facilities. If you’re tenting pay attention to where the street light is and don’t set up under it, it’s bright. 9$ per night, can’t beat it.
