Stopped for one night on way from New England to Finger Lakes region. Fairly level pull-thru. Mix of large rock gravel, dirt, grass/weeds. Service side of rig faced a nice small grassy area with pretty trees. Awning side faced rather ugly weeds/shrubs and was close to neighbor. Bathouse ok. Plum trees in full fruit on either side plus other lovely landscaping. Best part was hiking out to a couple of different blinds to look for birds. Did see a juv eagle. Not time to fully explore. Would go back. Disappointed that trees and vines on trails obscured almost all possible river views.
Stayed at Oscar Scherer on a weekday in June. Very quiet. Short, easy hikes. Lush foliage makes each site private. Nice long pull through site #104. Quite narrow and crumbly macadam. Bathhouse dated, needs renovation but clean enough! Enjoyed a day of peace and quiet under the live oaks and sabal palms. Plenty of trails for two small dogs.
