This campground is very nice and comfortable! It has showers and additional bathrooms for campers to use. This campground is also under an hour drive from a lot of places around the Cape and even though very booked up doesn’t seem overly crowded. Only downside is that some of the sites are very close together and have different campfire placements.
It’s been about six years since going to this campground but I remember it was a beautiful place and site right on the canal. The path to walk or bike was well kept and overall it was a beautiful place to be! Look forward to finally going back at some point in the near future!
While the Copake KOA has new owners now, it was a fun place to go when my family did! We went there for about three three or four summers before trying to go to a few other campgrounds. Not sure what it’s like with the new owners, but going there was always a great time, with many activities to do and getting to see a band on the weekend.
Also there are some fun places around to go see like Dads diner has great ice cream and good food and Bash Bish Falls is beautiful. There’s also a nice bike trail to go on too!
Have been going here for the past few years with my family. Definitely sad that the virus messed that up for us this year and we weren’t able to get a refund for a circumstance we couldn’t control. Nice place to go with the RV to relax and to go around the area to shop, go the beach, or head over to Block Island. Also the fact that pricing increased pretty significantly for out of state residents was unexpected but is still cheaper than other campgrounds in certain circumstances. Also sad to be missing out on the clams.
It’s a super nice campground and close enough for a quick trip! Some sites can be very close though but otherwise great weekend trip!
