padre is a perfect place to go when you really want to get away from everything. great beach camping and you can drive down as far as you'd like. we are always able to find a spot with no one else around. there are no facilities or set camp sites so you set up wherever you want. be mindful of the weather and I would recommend a four wheel drive car if you plan to drive out very far. lots of people get stuck. we love camping here!

this was a great location for spending some time on the medina river and close to medina lake. we camped in the tent camping area above the cabin. it's a bit of a steep walk from the campsite to the river, but not bad. we were able to carry our kayake with no problem. we were also able to use part of the grassy lawn next to the cabin which is closer to the river. only downside was a lot of dogs barking all night long. but if the time of year is right you will see fireflies and lots of deer. overall we enjoyed it a lot.

we really enjoyed our time here. the camp site managers were very friendly and helpful. we took the time to walk all the trails around the area. they allow dogs as well as long as they are on a leash. nice bathrooms are located close to camp sites. would definitely recommend this place.
