There was a bunch of roads to take that lead to sites. We were tired, so took one of the first, a bit bumpy getting in and it was HOT on the top of a hill. Once the sun went down it quickly cooled off. People were close, but couldn’t see them at all. Close to the NP. Also saw some Mule Deer Bucks!
Unless you want to stay RIGHT at the road in a big open lot then don’t try it. There is private property along the roadside, very bumpy road and virtually only two (?) sites that were small. We went to the look out, pretty, but then came right back out and tried our luck at Kolob Terrace road.
There was also someone staying in the lot in a tent, but it looked like he moved in for a bit, so not privacy…
The site was really easy to get to, right off the road. We ended up taking the first available campsite and it’s really nice big wide open area with an established fire pit. You can hear some road traffic but it’s sporadic. Two other vehicles passed us looking for campsites one was a bigger RV and the other was an SUV. Neither one came back down so they must’ve found a spot.
Our second night on this road we stayed at this exact site. The way in was much easier than the previous site. The neighbors are louder, playing music and sounds travels, but no biggie. The stars and sunset were amazing.
There are a few different camps to choose from with a long driveway to make it more private. We got here early about 3 o’clock on a Saturday however, most of the sites were already taken so the site that we ended up staying at the driveway was a little washed out and parts of the actual camping area were washed out. The views were 360 panorama views mountain ranges desert and red rocks. Overall, I would stay here again, but preferably at a different site.
Slightly rough road to get into the campsite plenty of places to choose from. Got there at like 6 o’clock on a Friday night with a camper van and had no trouble. It was the perfect stop for the night able to have a fire and had enough privacy. The stars were phenomenal. Verizon had full bar coverage and you’re close to Arches and Canyonlands.
