We stayed 7 days in July…very Hot. Weather report at 3pm said “feels like” 108f! Campsite was great, shaded with full hook ups. 2 good restaurants on the inter coastal side, fished and crab hunted at night. Another restaurant on the beach side was just ok. Great location to hit Downtown St Augustine. I recommend a Fishing Charter out of Comachee Cove marina just over the bridge…it was great. Also drive down to Matanzas inlet…walk along the path besides the bridge and spend the day fishing the inlet and snorkeling. Tons of sea turtles, birds, beautiful scenery and history. :) ….also check out Kyle’s seafood market. Excellent little place with great pre made dips and chowders and fresh seafood.
Great site. Very Clean bathhouse. Pool and water area for the kids with a life guard! Huge grass area to walk the dogs or hit golf balls. Trails lead to hidden docks or beaches on the river. Full hook up. We hit Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens from here. Plus snuck in some kayaking, swimming and fishing:)
Great location. Easy to get to the beach or check out the river or trails. Power only hook ups with a water and sanitation station for the whole Campground. The “host” sucks and will drive by 10 times a day making sure no one is breaking any rules. Well trained dog off the leash for a few minutes well away from everyone so he can retrieve a ball….nope. Not allowed. Drive 10mph in a 5. Get threatened to be kicked out? Meanwhile the bathrooms /showers haven’t been cleaned this year.
