Not so nature-y

The best thing about this campground is its location on the river. But the sites are packed in and many have little or no cover. There's not a ton of grass and trees, mostly dirt and gravel, at least in the section we were in. We managed to get a spot with some tree cover. It was incredibly hot when we were there so we spent most of our time lounging at the edge of the river. It really moved along and was fun to float down in a tube.

Awesome lake and a ton of deer

We had such a fun time at this campground. Our site was in Section A on a dry creek bed. Dry in August at least. Each day a family of deer came thru our site and were so tame they ate fruit right out of the kids' hands. So cool! It was over 100 degrees the wknd we were there so we spent practically the whole wknd in the lake. It was the perfect temperature to sit in for hours. No motorized water craft kept it quiet. I really wish I'd brought my canoe. We went during COVID so the pool and some other amenities were closed.

Location can't be beat

I wouldn't say this is the best campground but it's located 5 miles outside Yosemite's west gate. About as close as you can get without staying in the park itself. My family and I went twice during COVID, 4th of July and first wknd in October. I can't speak to some of the amenities (bathrooms, lodge, etc) because they were closed. We stayed in the RV section, but our site was big enough that I could also pitch my tent. The river runs right along the edge of camp. Shallow enough that kids can walk all the way across and runs all the way to the dam where there seems to be decent fishing. The riverfront sites are pretty tight but the sites across the street are a bit more spacious. The little store at the gas station is well stocked and a good place to get ice. Overall, I would recommend.

Wonderful campground!

My friends and I did a group trip to Inntown in September. We loved it so much we booked another weekend to go back before we left. The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. The campsites are well maintained, there is water nearby all sites and they drive thru the campground once a day to pick up trash in case you don't want to haul it to the dumpster. They have dish washing stations and the absolute nicest, cleanest bathrooms/showers I've ever seen in a campground. They do not allow wood burning fires, but you can use a gas fire ring or rent one from the campground. It's just outside Nevada City but you feel completely in nature thanks to all the big redwoods in camp. We spent the days at Fuller Dam, and the Yuba River and Scotts Flat Reservoir are nearby too. Overall, this is a fantastic campground and I highly recommend.
