The campground is in a nice secluded area that can be very silent and relaxing. The sites are well set-up and all are easy to access. Water fill up spots are well positioned and each site has a fire ring. We stayed in spot #2 which is very close to the road, but it felt secluded and traffic is light. The road up is good but extremely tight and windy at points so beware a wide trailer if you aren't used to this type of mountain driving. As per usual the place is great until some people show up and run their generators all night and yell half the night, but I really did enjoy this site. Hiking to waterfalls that are close and to the Appalachian Trail which is also close by is a fun and easy escape. We will be back and I recommend.
There are few places that I've been to that top this location. Super easy camp ground to get to with excellent paved roads in very close to each of the Tri-Cities. The camp ground is well organized with many amenities including super easy access to the water on all sides and surprisingly clean bathrooms. After the boat noise dies down the lake is extremely peaceful and placid. I could not recommend this area more for a weekend away. Note the Verizon cell service is spotty at best, but sometimes this is welcomed.
Although you can hear and see some of the other campers from the main loop, this is still a wonderfully peaceful place. The creek flowing through the middle of the grounds is a wonderful scenic point and provides with sound cover. We pulled our tear drop trailer into our site with no issues.
