We wanted to visit Patrick’s point and hunt for agates. Gave this park a try because there were ocean view sites.

The view is from a distance with lots of trees obstructing. We could hear seals barking at times which was nice but couldn’t see them.

Plenty of shade trees at the site. The spigot was broken. So they put a splitter on it and you just open or closed the valve on the splitter. The WiFi was fair but 2 bars was the best we could get. Electrical was ok but we used our surge protector given the age of all the facilities.

Don’t think we will stop here again. Definitely not paying extra for “ocean view”.

New favorite

We wanted to be “in” town and gave Wayside a try. It is awesome! Looks like a small hotel with 8 RV spots in the rear. The proprietors live onsite. All 8 are back in spots but the angles are easy.

Tested the 30 amp and electricity is solid. The WiFi was the best we have encountered (important since I have to work). There is plenty of shade. The other spots were somewhat close yet it was always peaceful and quiet.

The beach is a 10 minute drive. Face Rock is cool. Gas and supplies are mere minutes. We kept going back to Face Rock creamery. Try the Mac and cheese!

Definitely coming back here.

Location location

Cannon Beach is a great spot to spend some time. This resort is a 5 minute drive to the beach. Happily, there is an underpass to get to town without having to cross the 101.

This resort is very nice. The power was rock solid. There is free WiFi that works great early in the day but slows to a crawl at night. ATT reception is very limited.

Our only complaint was the lay out. Good angles for backing in. However, inner loops you have a neighbor front, back and sides. You can hear too much because they are fairly close. This place stays fairly full so reserve in advance to get an outer spot.

Bird migration spring through early summer is a highlight. Haystack rock is picturesque and volunteers can point out highlights. Don’t forget low tide for tidepooling. Supplies are plentiful in Seaside which is 30 minutes away. There are also gas pumps at the resort.

Pleasant surprise

This was a pleasant surprise as we were making our way through Oregon. We selected a pull through because we were only doing an overnight. Electricity was solid 30 amps. ATT reception was decent. We were impressed with the spacing between sites for a county park. We also appreciated having a couple of shade trees.

Gas and supplies were a 10-15 minute drive with lots of options. There’s even a Costco for cheap gas.

We reserved online which is convenient. Not sure why there is an additional fee. Would definitely stay here again and spend some time.
