As noted before we love Ponderosa. The camp ground is clean with nice bathrooms as well as showers(showers not available currently due to Covid). Great for riding bikes, water sports, shaded camping and running into town for an ice cream cone if you like. Lots of wildlife around town.
I’ve always wanted to stay in this stretch of Lake Cascade. Camp ground was fairly small with only one loop, made it very cozy. Sites had plenty of room and an ok amount of trees. Camp ground is right on the lake. Only real downfall other than no power (if you need it) is that the campground sits right off of west mountain rd. And there is quite a bit of noise from traffic even at night. Otherwise we really enjoyed it.
Spent the 4th of July weekend here. Campground is designed for long term campers. Sites are very close together. Group sites only have one central fire pit. Camp ground does have its own boat launch. It wasn’t ideal for my growing family of 5 due to confined sites but I could see how if you are looking for just a couple to spend time away and meet other campers that you’ll be with long term it would be great. Staff was very nice.
Abundance of wildlife. Trails to hike. What an amazing place to visit.
Nice paved road. Sites have plenty of space between you and your neighbors. Fishing, swimming, the store is close if you need the basics. Room for your RV.
Not sure if this site is even open currently due to fire damage in recent years. When open it has a nice group camping feel. Creek runs along side campground for great swimming with kids. It is close to highway so you need to watch your small kids. Does have toilets. Even though you reserve entire area people tend to pull in and ask if the can still stay in campground with you. The big positive though is that it’s a group space.
Good area that doesn’t require a reservation. Along the river for great swimming and fishing. Sites are pretty decent. Had a good amount of trees to keep out of the hot sun.
What a beautiful setting on Stanley Lake. Nice sites. A few minutes into the town of Stanley. Good fishing.
Nice area to camp. Sparse trees. Swimming in the creek as well as pool. If you’re needing cell reception it’s spotty at best. Camping spaces are clean.
It was nice being in the shade. Lots of huckleberries when in season(gave the kids something extra to do). Went on a hike around lake, very nice. Swimming was ok. Kind of a mud hole for swimming. Fishing close by.
We love Ponderosa! Favorite place to camp.
