We stayed here on a 1 night stop over on our way to moab. We crossed the dam and found an entire campground empty. Very basic but quiet. Woke up to snow on the ground.
We stayed here a week in late July. Weather was great for hanging out in the lake all day swimming and kayaking. We had no problem getting around in our 50 ft rig. We got 2 sites side by side for our camping partners. Nice grassy area for group activities. A thunder and lightning storm 1 night to keep it interesting. Hosts were great and I know they have plenty of rules but we didn't feel like we were being watched the whole time. Be aware of bees during the day and mosquitoes at night.
Awesome fall and winter camping. First come first serve after Oct 31st. Spend a long weekend there last week. No problem finding 2 sites side by side for 40 ft rigs. Great hiking and exploring. City views of port Townsend. Easy in and out. Website said water was turned off at The sites but all sites still had water.. nice hosts that left us alone. Docks are pulled out of the water during winter months. Upper campground is closed during winter..
Best in late fall when it's cooler. Less loud drunkards. Dont get me wrong, I love my cocktails but can get a little obnoxious. Can fit large RV's down a half mile rough road. I have been a few times in october/November in a 40 ft 5er. No hookups or onsite water. We went into Mt Ranier nat park and filled a 40 gallon tank from a waterfall along the road then pumped it into the rv. VERY large sites for RVS. Many smaller tent sites. We were there during military skydiving practice. Very cool!
Nice campground and dock camping. Been a couple times in an rv and a couple times in a boat. No sewer hookup and only 2 sites with electric and water. Great kayaking too.
Full hookups for the rver. Sites to 70 ft. No firepits is a downside but the upside is the best seafood bar in the area. We live less than an hour away and have stayed here many times.
Stayed here 1 night on a road trip back to seattle from kartchner caverns. Nice large pull thru sites. We are over 50 feet long and no problem. Short walk to the creek. More like a river. Some hiking in the area. Spacious and quiet. A short drive to the highway but no road noise
