Pulled off the road just to sleep. Picnic tables and fire rings but no fires allowed at this time. Pleasant breezy cottonwood grove. Would stay again on my way thru.
We were the only campers when we stayed. Clean bathroom. Great sites with tent pad, fire ring and picnic table. Drinking water from well. This was a stop on the pony express and there are ruins nearby. A band of mustangs sometimes frequents the spring across the road. Be aware there are rattle snakes. Saw one at the pump but none near our campsite.
Great place to get off the road. Only saw 3 other campers as I drove up the mountain (it’s a holiday weekend). Decent dirt road for any vehicle. Quiet and relaxing.
I was wondering expecting dispersed camping at this site but there are individual with tent pads and vault toilets. The view overlooking the Colorado River was exceptional. It was about a 6 mile ride back on dirt and sand that my suburu handled easily. What a find off of I-70!
