One night camping at Ames Brook on their opening weekend. Staff were very friendly, campground is clean, nice selection of wooded to open camp sites. Prices are very reasonable. Easy to get to off Rt. 93, in Ashland, quick ride to many area attractions like hiking, lakes, etc.
Site 27 is very large, near a cute babbling brook. Rained the majority of the evening, so the brook grew quite a bit but didn't intrude on the site. Great little 1 night trip to kick off our season.
Campground is primarily seasonal sites, however the nightly rentals sites are nicely located near the water. Site 5 was our spot for Memorial Day Weekend, level, partial shade, partial sun, large site. Easily fit our large tent, screenhouse, area to park our truck and still move around comfortably. Fire pit consists of a grate to use for grilling.
Nice size beach and pavillion, playground located at the top of the hill as well as shuffleboard. Bathrooms are very clean. Camp store reasonable and decently stocked. Quite hours 11 pm to 8 am are enforced.
Campground is conveniently located within walking distance to the Weirs and easy driving distance to too many activities to list.
