Went to site Dyrt said on pro trip selection. Read reviews looked good. See photos I give. It is the headquarters bldg. Free sites are from Damascus up mtn to bear creek campground
Found by mistake, but glad I did. Flowers to bloom soon. Water spicket located on beaver loop. 3 shower and restroom on loop. Off of route 58. Hot water and flushing toilets. $12.00 with passes. See photos has 79 sites and a group site staying one night only because I have to be somewhere else. 49 double spot 39 and 40 paved.
Passed thru found it. Looks remarkable and remote. 5.00 or less with pass
Didn’t read all comments before going. Dyrt added it to my trips anyway. Need to take off site one way in now private closed Road
Overall great. Site 1 is open so a small pull behind can fit in parking area. Tents only on sites. Lots of shade. Toilet is vaulted, no water. Easy access to Obed River and trails. Don’t come in from north east, to bad of rd. Wartburg is paved.
Didn’t stay. To far out for me. Lots of knats. Dirt rd I , washboard out was north to Rock Creek campground steep downhill grade narrow. My opinion not for 5th wheel. No cell for miles
Call 1-423-775-7801 before go. Closed when I got here. Looks like nice setup. Grass mowed. Supposed to open by June 23 per county commissioner office. Road is a little narrow and rough getting in last 5 miles. Paved but potholes.
One of my go to travel spots. Always quiet and nice. Water finally back up. Spot is 1/2 price with my America the Beautiful pass. Lots of places empty.
Just started in campground May 5. Has paved roads in it 18 padded spots with water hookups. Bathroom’s with hot water and shower’s. Has designated dispersed tent spot. Boat ramp. Has another spot for camping with no water dispersed. Everything looked we’ll kept and stocked. Overall great area. Lots of shade close to lake with wildlife too
Started 3 May 2023, looks like a few permanent residents. Going to spend at least 1 night. No porta potty in sight. Did two, not maintained by TVA anymore. One spot looks like party point. Locals keep mowed. So far quiet and friendly. Three areas to get too, pull offs on left coming in on Hwy 1. Moved from open area to site 1 at entrance better view right on lake
1st of all don’t book thru Dyrt!!! Card was charged and when got to campground they didn’t have an account with Dyrt. Had to pay again and hope my card is refunded for the Dyrt charge. Just arrived on 23 March, staying 5 days. Will update near the end. So far looks good with a fishabble creek. Little Swan creek.
Came in for the night on stopover. All paved spots, flushing toilets with water spots Al around campground. Almost full when I got here at 3pm. So far quite.
Was going to stay only two days, ended up staying four. Really nice place with America the beautiful and senior discounts only six dollars. Really accessible for any Shars coach with large secluded spots. So ice and have running water for the campground
Spent one night at this campground, got There late in eve. Only sites available or on top of the hill. Not bad, but not level. Spots or near each other. Was there in mid October at the beginning of deer bow season. With the discount five dollars a night still not bad.
Spent 2 nights in spot 12. Is 45 spots. Smaller area but cheaper than others. Quiet in Oct. leaves were turning. Lake about 1 mile away from it. Only drawback was there trash run/pick up dumpster was 3 am on Friday morning ( only time they said anyone would do it). Other than that overall good with senior discount.
Stayed 2 days in this northern LBL campground. Well maintained and level spot. 8. Has 3 spots for bigger motor homes. Also tent areas. Will definitely come back to this place. With America beautiful pass only 5 bucks. Only drawback was that a train station was about 1 mile away and could hear them pulling out at night. Not bad though
Stayed in spot 35 and 34 should’ve been one spot. Always like the looks of this lake. Wasn’t too crowded and looks great all around. A Laundry facility and bathrooms were clean. Around the corner down the road a little bit was a place called hurricane bridge day area. Free for passholders and it’s real nice
My to go to campground when in town. Real nice getaway and for 5 dollars with discount for America the Beautiful pass. Most of time almost empty except weekends. Can be a little noisy at times but scenery is great. Lots of trees for shade. Cell is only good on end of campground.
Stayed one night on 21 September. Real quiet experience. Takes A the B pass and has free laundry. Real enjoyable
Stayed in lot 18. Shade was great. Lake is beautiful spots are gravel pads with fire ring. On vault toilet, good but not totally maintained. Busy on weekends. Some lots traffic due to boat ramp. Far corner fairly good
